Thanks for posting the Peaches & Cream recipe. I just made up a 30ml batch of it.

I've been working on a Strawberry Cheesecake recipe all day and I'm getting nowhere with it. I've got one or two 100 drop samples that were ok, but not great by any means. It's frustrating because I have a Strawberry Cheesecake juice I just love from quitthatgrit.com and I can't nail down how they get it so creamy. I've tried marshmallow, sweet cream, vanilla bean ice cream, cotton candy, and vanilla custard (not all at once). But, still no luck getting that lovely consistency I'm looking for. I've also used ripe strawberry as well as strawberry and cream flavors. I've even used some Cap flavors (vanilla custard and ny cheesecake) and still no luck nailing it down.

I will persevere! It will make it all that more gratifying when I get it figured out. But, I'm not sure I can do it with only TFA flavors.

I've been tinkering with a "basic cheesecake", though it uses Capella's NY cheesecake flavoring, along with TFA Vanilla Swirl and DX Bavarian; as soon as I can get some Lorann Cream Cheese Icing flavor, I was planning to add a touch of that. The basic recipe isn't bad, but it's really underwhelming; I thought the cream cheese icing would give it some pep.

Didn't I read in here recently, someone mentioned an actual store where you can find pure citric acid? Maybe Hobby Lobby? I dunno, can't recall what store was named. If I'm going to mix up enough of the Strawberries and Cream for March, that would be at least 60ml, so some citric acid might be a good idea to make sure it stays tasty for the whole month.

It's not an actual store but I admit I got roped in by the 100% pure, non-GMO, organic grade. They have it in larger sizes too, though 1lb will probably last a pretty long time even if you also use it to clean your coffee maker, etc.

Good price and non-GMO to boot.

Just wanted to check in with you guys... I've been out for a while on a bit of a short sabbatical... just needed a break from life and pretty much everything in general. I do hope that everyone here is doing well, and it's great to see that everyone is still sharing recipes and knowledge here. I've pretty much stuck myself into a rut and haven't been experimenting too much, but I'll get back into the swing of things soon and should have a few things to share. Hope to get all caught up soon and get to know some of the new faces around here as well as getting back in touch with some of the 'old folks'... :)

Good to see ya back,is your wife doing better now?I know you mentioned a whle back about some medical problems, hopefully life is better now.I completely forgot about that peaches & cream you posted,i'll have to make some up this weekend,i've been craving a peach juice here lately, just haven't sat down to make any haha.

Yeah I saw that one; I was just hoping I might be able to find it someplace locally, to avoid waiting for vapemail. It's used in canning, right? Maybe a big grocery like Publix would carry it. They have about every spice and condiment known to humanity. :D

The teas are pretty strong. I'd go max at 4%. 5% if you really want to push it. I don't have any good recipes offhand but I do want to work on a green tea latte (the tfa green tea is more "grassy"though) and a milk tea with black tea.

hmm....a chai tea latte is starting to sound good too.uh oh

Yikes it is strong.. went with 2.5% and it sure tastes like a STRONG cup of black Earl Grey.
Added 2% Bavarian Cream, we'll see what happens.

Very interested to see where this goes, a tea vape sounds nice, especially earl grey:)

Well so far gotta tell you the taste is dead on, mind you it's a shake n'vape, no steep at all.
(Got a 30ml bottle today and I'm guessing it will last a while at 2%)
The Bav. Cream really seems to have taken a lot of the strong harsh edge off but ASAP I'm gonna dilute back from 2.5% to 2%
Initial reactions are yes I'd recommend it if you are a tea drinker.

I just got my 4oz bottle of LorAnn's CCI today. I was planning to try that next.(Great minds and all that.) It does add a nice flavor and texture to ejuice. Then I'll try smooth and butter.

I just bought this bottle of citric acid from Amazon last week:

Bill or anybody else .. I have a question .. I have all 3 strawberries .. Ripe , cream and sweet .. I have seen mention of the sweet is the best .. In your opinion .. What is your take on the 3 flavor profiles ? I have used all three and the cream seams a little "chemical" tasting to me .. I also mixed a batch of my RY4 with strawberry cream instead of my orange cream .. It was very good straight and excellent 3 days later .. But I did want a little more "Strawberry Flavor " I wonder if I should up the Strawberry cream or maybe reduce that and add strawberry sweet .. Just looking for an opinion :)

Okay, I just posted the above recipes and also my Chai Spiced Cream recipe in a blog post... Whenever I get around to experimenting some more, I'll be sure to get them posted up as well.

Good to see you back Kaezziel :)

Gandered at your blog. I love Chai, but don't have any in stock. I have some (shhhhh) CAP Horchata that I was thinking of subbing. I'm also looking for a great vanilla - my B&M has one that I absolutely love (but I'm not willing to pay for it any more ;) ) I'm wondering if in your vanilla custard the egg nog is too "spicy"?

I'd fiddled with an attempt a couple months ago and came up with

"Smooth Vanilla"
French Vanilla - 7.5%
Vanilla Custard - 7.5%
Bavarian Cream - 7.5%
(LA) NY Cheesecake - 7.5% (I know, I'm cheating here since this is a TFA thread....)

I haven't mixed this in a while, but I think I'm going to lower the French Vanilla a touch and add a few drops of either sweetener or EM to see if I can get it to pop. Either that or a touch of Marshmallow and pull down the French Vanilla....

When I want just a touch of flavor, a secondary flavor, or a background flavoring in a juice, I will use the orange cream, the strawberry cream, or the banana cream. I don't generally use any of them as a primary flavoring. As a primary, I will generally use either the sweet version of the orange or strawberry, or the sweet version coupled with the ripe at about a 2/3 and 1/3 ratio (2/3 sweet). Using these methods, I have had good luck with all three variations of the fruits.

If making a strawberry cream flavoring, per se, I will not use the strawberry cream, but rather the strawberry sweet, or strawberry sweet/ripe combo, and add separate cream. This allow me to control the flavoring to a much better degree and to create any nuance that I want. Combination flavorings like strawberry cream or orange cream do not provide the wide variations that I seek, and work better for me as supporting flavorings. For example, when I make a cream fantastic, I spice it up with a strawberry cream secondary flavoring, and maybe a blueberry secondary flavoring. They work great in this role. The primary flavoring of cream, though, emerges with creams, vanillas and sweeteners. I hope this makes sense. Good luck! :toast: :D

I don't see a "sweet" strawberry on the TPA website. Only Strawberry (Ripe) and Strawberry. Am I missing something?

Right, TFA refers to this flavoring as just "Strawberry", as opposed to ripe or organic, but it's the sweet inside strawberry flavoring versus the ripe, skin flavoring. Generally speaking, when TFA says ripe, they are referring more to the skin or peel of the fruit, and not the sweet inside of the fruit which is "sweet." Good luck! :toast: :D

I've used the CCI with many different juices, primarily with several Danish mixes, and had some good results at very low percentages, say 1% or 2% tops. The CCI adds another dimension, and is so dominant that it "wants" to take over the mix, and, for me, at least, completely changes the flavoring. I do like the CCI with some of these danishes, but, generally speaking, I prefer the danishes without the CCI. It's really just too dominant for many flavorings, though perfect with one or two, imho. So, it's good, occasionally very good, but sometimes detracts from the flavoring, rather than adding to it, if that makes sense. I would always make a Danish, for example, then make the same mix with 1% CCI and just taste which one you might prefer. They're both gonna be good, but sometimes, the CCI is just too much for some of the milder fruits, like lemon and watermelon, and I think the juice is better without them. I say this just to let anyone reading these posts know that it is not a magic bullet that we've all been waiting for, but, rather, a nice addition to the flavor toolbox/bag or tricks, but not always a requirement. Use judiciously, you just might prefer the mix without the CCI. :2c:

Good luck! :toast: :D

I must confess that I can't make a decent cheesecake with TFA flavorings, but your recipe reminded me of an Ultimate Vanilla recipe that I made sometime back:

Ultimate Vanilla

Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Vanilla Bourbon - 2%
French Vanilla - 4%
Bavarian Cream - 3% OR
French Vanilla Cream - 3% OR Both!!
Vanillin - 3%
Cotton Candy - 2%
Sweetener - 2%

That's 20% - 30% Vanilla! You can add dulce de leche at 2% and Vanilla Bean at 4% to give it that thick vanilla milkshake flavor. Adjust and sweeten to taste. Yes, Ren, we need our vanillas! I wanted to repost this from almost six months ago, because I don't have it anywhere in my blogs and wanted to memorialize this so I could find it again! Good luck! :toast: :D

Also, my milkshake base has not been added to my flavoring list, and I thought it might prove useful to some seeking to make their own milkshake juice. Good luck!

Vanilla Milkshake Base

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 10%
Marshmallow - 5%
French Vanilla Deluxe - 4%
Sweetener - 3%
Dulce de Leche - 2%
Koolada - 1%

Bonus Recipe:

Pralines and Cream has long been one of my favorites, and I've posted it here before somewhere. Here it is again:

Pralines and Cream

Hazelnut Praline - 6%
Vanilla Custard - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 5%
Sweetener - 4%

Sweeten and adjust to taste. Don't think it needs cinnamon Danish, imho....
