So, I mixed up my first three! Bill's starburst, a cinnamon pear Danish and a Tahitian Dragon idea I had.

The starburst is good, although I'm thinking I might switch from strawberry to something else. The cinnamon pear is nice, but I think it needs more cream. The dragon turned out pretty good for my first original recipe, however I think I need to tone down the strawberry, up the dragonfruit and add more vanilla.

But that's the good thing about DIY. I can do that!

The only mishap is that now my kitchen smells of strongly of strawberry because I twitched as I was picking up the vial and spilled a few mls on the table... eh, s**t happens.

...I'm gonna go play mad scientist some more...

Your definitely not the only one.I found out pretty quick that heavy strawberry is not my thing,i really don't even care for it as a background flavor in most juices. At first,i thought it was just the Tfa strawberry, but now i've tried several, and none are good to me as a main flavor,i have found a few juices that it works good in the background though.
I know I like strawberry in some stuff. I have a bought juice called Strawberry Mangerine (strawberry, mango, tangerine) that I like. But the two things I've used it in so far are just... overpowering? Blech? I don't know the right word. It smacks me in the face with a dueling glove covered in potpourri and slime.

Perhaps I'll try a v2 with the strawberry cut half... Although the one recipe I'm thinking of dropping the strawberry and replacing it with raspberry. I just wanted to augment the dragonfruit and give a secondary fruit taste. (Course that one needs work anyways, I don't have a pure vanilla like I wanted, only swirl, ice cream, French creme, custard and cupcake.)

    Somewhere between here and there
I like strawberry ripe. I use it with the milkshake recipe and have been using the lite strawberry cheesecake recipe for months. I even did a copy of tribulation by agnostic brews with strawberry, peach, and honeydew.

I mixed up the Starburst on a whim the other night. I'm not usually one for super sugary sweet juices, but damn! I'm making some tomorrow to give to a few friends. I also may try some different fruits with it. Blueberry or maybe even orange cream sound tasty.

Those sound like good ideas. When i tried the starburst,i wasn't crazy about the strawberry,so i planned on trying some other fruit flavors with it.I made it with maraschino cherry, and it was really potent haha,so i had planned on trying it with lemon, and forgot to ever try it,but now your ideas sound pretty good,so i may try a few, blueberry, orange cream, and lemon all sound good, plus now i have the cherry extract which doesn't seem as strong as the maraschino,so i will probably give the cherry another try as well.

Yeah, I was gonna try lemon and blueberry. Pineapple might be tasty too...

That Dragon recipe really turned funny today. I think I'm gonna cut the strawberry all together and try the raspberry instead.

Anybody know how I could do a vanilla that's slightly not super creamy? I don't have a straight vanilla...

I have lemon, mandarin, pineapple, blueberry, tangerine, and orange cream. You folks have me excited to try some of those in the starburst recipe. Only problem is which one first.
Why not a little of each? Like a handful of candy at once lol

Yeah,a pack of starburst comes with a bunch of flavors,so just make your own pack haha.It would be easy to make up a larger mix of the starburst recipe without the fruit, then measure out some for each bottle, then add the different fruits to each bottle.

    So I tested all the flavors I made yesterday.... on a scale of five there was a 5, a 4, two 3s, a 1, and a 0.

I attempted to make an earl grey tea with honey and cream from a recipe I saw somewhere.... it was horrible. The tea was way too strong, honey slightly in the background, cream no where to be seen. I'm gonna leave what's left to steep for a week or so to see what happens and make a v2 as well. After thinking about it, and swishing my tongue with coffee to try to erase the flavor, I'm thinking 13% might have been too high on the earl grey....

The Lychee Cream and Snow Day clone were 5 and 4 respectively. Still gonna v2 them and see if they can't get better. I think there's a slight nuance between "hey this tastes pretty good" and "this is perfect, just the way I like it".

The Cinnapear and Bill's starburst just need a few tweaks, still coming in with respectable scores of 3. The OG recipe I did though, the Tahitian Dragon.... it needs work. I had to rate it a piddly 1 of 5... After only 24 hours, the strawberry had taken over and the dragonfruit and vanilla went underground.

I'm thinking I may need to make a few 1%, 2%, 3%, etc mixes of my various strawberries and potentially overpowering things to determine average starting points depending on what I'm trying to do. However... I'm not typically a patient person... eh, bumbling it is. I have a tongue of dolomite, I'll survive.

I found it in my notepad,i forgot i saved it before haha. This is how i saved it,but i believe when he posted it that he said he used the dx peanut butter in the v2,but i only have the regular,so i think i left the dx part off.

    Peanut brittle v2 by Dwcraig

    7.5% Peanut butter
    7.5% RY4 double
    3.75% or more sweetener
    1% acetyl pyrazine

Is this the peanut brittle recipe? I don't use sweetener. Would cotton candy or marshmallow be a good substitute?

According to TFA, Cotton Candy is Ethyl Maltol. aka - sweetener. (From an email convo I had with them)

Perfumers Apprentice - Cotton Candy Flavor

Thank you. Yeah, I usually use cotton candy as sweetener. I was wondering if over 3% is too high because I recently read that too much tends to mute flavors. What is your opinion on this? I'm really wondering. I don't think I've ever gone over 3% so I wasn't sure.
