I haven't worked with either one of the flavors you are using but have learned from bill that sweeteners are needed for fruits.
Honestly, that really is more of a personal taste thing though.I don't like many fruit flavors, but the ones i do use are plenty sweet enough on their own that adding sweetener to them would make them unvapable to me.

Yeah,it's funny how our tastes change as time goes on.When i first quit smoking and started vaping, every juice i vaped had to be sweet or i didn't like it at all,now 2 years later,i can't stand sweet juice haha.I do very occasionally add a small amount of em,and very rarely a very small amount of sweetener to some mixes, but 99% of the time, the juices are fine for me without it.

When I started I wanted something that tasted like camel menthol and only used non sweet tobaccos and menthols. I had a menthol I really liked but when the company went out of business then I found myself reading this thread and asking for help. I've noticed that there isn't much talk about those kinds of recipes here. I tried a couple recipes from the Dropbox and was hooked.

Thanks @hittman - I've got some EM on hand I can try. I tried Marshmallow and it only seemed to accentuate the perfume characteristics. Maybe I overshot. Thanks! Gotta say I'm surprised I couldn't find anywhere on these threads that others had the same growing pains.
There are several ways to eliminate the perfume/floral/chemical notes in our juices:

It is almost always NOT too much flavoring, but incomplete flavoring that does this to mixes. See my blog. I'm Bill by the way. Welcome to the thread! :toast: :D

Have to say that I'm the exact opposite. I can't taste any sweetness in the fruits, though I can taste some iteration of the base fruit, either, usually, the fruit, or the peel/skin. But, as you know, I do use a lot of sweetener, particularly cotton candy in my mixes. To each their own, my friend! :toast: :D

That's what i do too,is wrap them in tape.Another option for even longer lasting is to use clear nail polish on them.

And the clear nail polish might hold up in the boiling water better, too. Thanks, y'all! :thumb:

I feel a flavor order coming on. I've been trying to limit my spending but it's about time to get in a good size order for flavors I've been wanting to add.

You can never have to much flavor... Thats like eating the same meals everyday for the rest of your life.... thats devastating..

Can any of you good folk tell me where to get a funnel & which one to fill my 30ml plastic squeeze bottles? Using the top off of one of those mustard/ketchup squeeze bottles now with mediocre success! Don't laugh I'm a Hillbilly at heart!

Bull City has one small enough to fit. I'm pretty sure all the diy places have funnels in their supplies section. The secret to using a funnel is to not let it seal to the bottle well. Someone mentioned hanging a paperclip in the mouth of the bottle, then placing the funnel. It leaves a little space for air the seep out as it's displaced by liquid. Or you can just hold the funnel up a little.

I put in my flavor order with BCV a little bit ago. I have 13 new flavors coming. There have been a few recipes I've been wanting to try and I'm always missing one or two. I finally am getting some AP.
