Guys,

Now that Washington legislators in their "infinite wisdom" have levied a 75% tax on e-cigs and e-cig equipment, how will this affect you business?

I'm pretty sure that most of your customers are "out of state" but I don't know if the tax affects everything "sold" or just everything bought from a Washington Resident.

Also it appears that a 75% tax on the ProVari would make the ProVari out of reach for many folks.

I guess there is one silver lining. A lot of people will be getting their ProVari orders in before the enforcement of the tax.

[EDIT]: Just ordered my second one this morning.....

Thanks.

Hey ProVape, Oregon doesn't have a sales tax.

nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
If I owned Provape I would just move my address out of state to a state with no tax bounce the shipments out of there and should be problem solved?
I would think so. If ProVape was physically located in that state. Otherwise, that would be tax evasion, and a crime (above and beyond the criminally high tax imposed by the state).

Not so easy on the employees I would think.
Or their families.

For tobacco substitutes, seventy-five percent of the taxable
sales price;
I dug through the bill, and this seems to be the relevant portion of it regarding e-cigarettes.
As best I understand it, this would only apply to e-juice/pre-filled cartos/and cig-a-likes. am I reading that wrong?
Here's the link to everything: HB 2795 - 2013-14

MBV will certainly feel the squeeze if on juice. They have a strong following, I assume mainly because of their low price point (I tried it once, never went back).

Not a MBV customer..

But hopefully they're mobilizing their base, as well

Do vape businesses ever band together to help stop these evils of the world?

Was wondering how long it would take you call me out on that.....

Does it count if it's ONLY stock satin silver/red LED with a single battery and extension cap? Yeah, it does......

Good grief, you've had to eat a lot of crow in the last month. The submersible debacle, the initial ProVari order, the second ProVari order...
...the third and future ProVari order???

...

It is not the job of businesses to elect and control the people's representatives. If a Representative or Congressman/Congresswoman votes in a manner you don't agree with, it is your job to vote for someone who will. I vote, do you?

The beautiful Puget Sound
Does the tax included everything e cig related or only e liquid? Since the e liquid is the only thing containing the nicotine? Nope head buried in sand haven't seen much on any of this sorry don't flog me I'm new!

From the bill;

tobacco product" means:

(i) Any product containing, made, or derived from tobacco or
nicotine that is intended for human consumption, whether chewed,
smoked, absorbed, dissolved, inhaled, snorted, sniffed, or ingested by
any other means
; and

(ii) Any electronic device that can be used to deliver nicotine or
other substances to the person inhaling from the device, including,
but not limited to, an electronic cigarette
, cigar, pipe, or
hookah.

(b) Notwithstanding any provisions of (a)(i) and (ii) of this
subsection to the contrary, "tobacco product" includes any
component, part, or accessory of a tobacco product whether or not
it is sold separately.

It covers everything.
