Agree.

However, having deep pockets, when you have issues that may be litigated, and over a long period of time, can be an alliance that may come in handy?

I try to think practical rather than emotional. I don't like the connection to them, but I doubt vaporers are a big enough lobby group or PAC to raise the sheer gobs of money that might be required to fight anti-vaping efforts.

Call me 'suspicious', 'cynical', or 'paranoid', but I've thought of another slant on BT's sudden "interest" in entering the PV arena. If I have more money than (insert your favorite deity here), and can afford to take a loss (which I can claim at tax time) in order to disrupt, demean, and destroy a fledgling industry which conflicts with my own interests...I might just consider "appearing" to jump into bed with it so that my "taint" will rub off on that industry and (hopefully) bring it down and out of my way.

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" (Sun-tzu, a Chinese general and military strategist, 400 BC, The Art of War.)

He knew what he was talking about.

Again, I don't believe one can truly be victorious coming from a fearful place, an angry place, or a paranoid place. One must be clear-headed, calm, and direct, and know everything there is to know about the opponent and their stance if one is to uncover, then exploit, their weaknesses and lack of logic.

There is only one thing we can do, and far too few seem to want to, and that's act TOGETHER. No single vaper is going to be able to do it alone. We need to vape openly and publicly. We need to make advocates for vaping out of our family, friends, and coworkers who see our success. We need to educate our doctors about vaping.

We need to pay attention every single time there is a proposed ban, tax, or letter sent to a hotel to shut down a vape meet, and we ALL have to act. Every single one of us. I was asked the other day why I care about what MA does. I care because it takes vaping away from someone just like me.

I have a rebuildable, I can get kanthal wire and steel mesh. I can get batteries and chargers. I can learn to mix my own liquid. I'm an unstoppable vaper as far as what the government can do to me...... BUT none of us would have started if we couldn't get our hands on a commercially available kit. We need to fight for that no matter what our personal circumstances are, because in doing so, we are keeping the option open, and we are saving lives.

IF WE CAN'T UNITE....... they will slowly and surely take us down. They will regulate anything that isn't prefilled and made by BT. EVERYONE should be a member of CASAA. Everyone should at least make small periodic donations even if it's the cost of 1 pack of cigarettes a month. Alone, we are vulnerable, but if we consolidate and present a united, vocal, public presence, we may sway some opinions in our favor.

You are 100% correct. Well stated. But what really bothers me is all the vapers who come on here and state that vaping is the same as smoking and we should act like smokers and have no interest in joining CASAA or even taking the time to educate a neighbor. Vaping will definitely be banned or severally limited (sealed carts only in 2 - 4mg nic strength) if all vapers don't standup with CASAA and take an active interest in protecting the right to vape.

Alas, in all of life; there are leaders, there are followers, and there are those who sit on the sidewalk and watch the parade. I think the most we can do is get as many leaders and followers as we can, by educating people. And, of course, joining IN the parade ourselves.

I've found where there has finally been a study conducted by real scientist! True, they were funded by Flavorart, but from what I've read, they seem to have conducted an unbiased research into the effects of vaping to us as humans.

" Dr. Giorgio Romagna and Dr. Konstantinios Farsalinos will soon be making their presentations on the subject of electronic cigarettes.

Dr. Romagna, creator of the Clearstream Air and Clearstream Life projects, will be presenting the findings of both studies at the 14th Annual Meeting of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT) Europe, being held August 30 – September 2 in Helsinki, Finland. Both Clearstream projects focus on the effects of electronic cigarettes and health.

Dr. Farsalinos wil be presenting his findings at the European society of Cardiology on August 25 in Munich, Germany. The Studies of Dr. Farsalinos focus on the effects of electronic cigarettes and myocardial function.

The studies of Drs. Romagna and Farsalinos have been peer reviewed ,and are expected to be released in scientific journals, following their presentation."

Both studies, compare traditional smoke with electronic cigarette vapor, but with different research goals: the individual and the community

I'll personally be keeping an eye on this one. It sounds as if the results are going to be publicly released after September 5th.

Well I told my psychiatrist. He specialises in addiction and is one of the most senior doctors in the area in Europe, and also advises various national and international bodies on addiction issues. He thinks vaping is great, massively better than smoking and congratulated me on quitting. I said it was a doddle to quit smoking this way as vaping is more pleasurable, and he just gave me a massive grin and said "I am so pleased". Next time I see him I'll nag him to get some of his colleagues to get a research team going to work on it.

Well, it's not international, but there is a CASAA for the UK. Here's a link.

ECCA UK - E-Cigarette Consumer Association of the UK

Excellent. Thanks. When i've gottime I'll join up and suggest they affiliate with CASAA officially, perhaps under a loose umbrella organisation that is international where each national organisation is allowed to use the international name in their respective countries.

What an excellent idea! I like!:D
We need as many professionals on our side as we can get. And those who have no ties to either the govement or us is very beneficial. That way no one can go naysaying about the studies and research they have put into it, as they have no vested interest in the outcome.
