Cavenerd, my motivation comes from not wanting to gain back the 66 pounds I lost.  No way in hell.  It was too hard to get off and I will never be fat again.  And boy if you knew all the inspirations I got last year to keep me hitting the treadmill and keep eating healthy.  I was flooded with inspirations and it still continues.  And signing up for 5Ks and 10Ks helps too...I got a 10K coming up on March 7th.
Did my fastest 5K last night.....30:40.  
 
Always, I wouldn't worry about exercise until you feel better and get over your sickness.  It's not good to stress your body with exercise during illness.  Just take it easy, get well, and you can get back at it soon.  
 
ETA:  And what exactly is a cadence run?  Is that when you run as a group?  And maybe chant as you run?  hellifiknow...I guess I could google it.
