Nothing a glass or two of Metamucil won't cure.
189.5 this morning. The next couple of days will be trying as I'll be out on an overnight run. Let's face it, you don't see too many 'Health Food' joints around Truck Stops. Maybe some old fruit near the register, if you're lucky....

How tall are you, Papaw? I meant to ask you this before the thread accidentally closed. A few posts earlier you said you weighed 151 lbs when you entered the service, right? I was wondering how tall you are and what kind of body frame you have. I'm (was) 5' 8" and at my fittest weighed 175 - a mesomorph body type. If you're near the same height or taller, you must have been pretty slim.

I wondered about that; I often read the mods' last post in a closed thread, even those I'm not following, just to see the words of wisdom they offer as to why they closed it -- it's usually entertaining as all get out, and often edifying as well. But when I saw this one... I was just puzzled.

Me, I like eating healthy, keeping my weight down with that healthy eating, and maintaining my healthy non-drinking non-smoking lifestyle... but good lord, exercise??? GAHHHHHH! If I had a swimming pool handy, that would be excellent; I HATE to sweat. All other forms of exercise just strike me as boring and masochistic, and I really don't like pain.

But y'know... whatever floats y'alls' boat. :D I do like dancing, and often boogie around the kitchen while cooking dinner. It's nice, since I stopped smoking, I can boogie to my heart's content and never get that godawful pain in my chest that I used to get. :thumb:

Hi Andria, and welcome.

I hear ya on the pool bit - I hate running and now, after 20+ years in the classroom (and many miles hitch-hiking up & down the west cost), my feet can't take the pounding any more. Love to swim though.

We are going to a new restaurant tonight and I don't know what to expect, so today its coffee, water, carrots, and sliced turkey breast for me. Don't wanna have too many calories with not knowing dinner.

Gonna try some yoga, this migraine will make anything inverted too painful so just some basics.

Have a good day everyone!

Tuesday, next week, we are going to a restaurant that I've not been to. So I checked their menu online and I have already figured out what I will be getting

I am sooooo weird

Pork is not bad for you, depending on how it is prepared. Tonight I am making schnitzel. Pork with all the fat trimmed off, pounded very thin. Dredge it in an egg/water wash, dredge it in seasoned bread crumbs then fried very quickly. About 2 - 3 minutes till brown each side. I usually fry them in butter but tonight I will use vegetable oil with a pad of butter instead of going through sticks of butter

Sides will be: Baby redskin potatoes drizzled with a bit of melted butter and tossed with fresh parsley.
Green string beans sauteed in butter and brown sugar? New recipe that the SIL is showing me tonight.... we'll see. I may just do some of them just steamed for myself.
Applesauce.
Fresh baked bread. One slice only for me.

For dessert: Apple pie ala mode. Might will skip the ala mode and just have a very thin slice of pie.

Yeah, I have a lot of joint issues, and nearly any kind of exercise, while it might be good for me aerobically, it just hell on my joints. Swimming isn't. I keep saying I'm going to join the Y, they have a pool, but I never seem to get there and actually join.

Maybe yoga could be something I could do, for more mobility without so much joint strain. About 20 yrs ago I got interested in tai chi, but never did finish learning all the positions.

I've never had much trouble with my weight; in my youth, I actually had trouble *keeping* weight on, and had to eat myself senseless just about constantly. Now I'm in my 50s, my metabolism has slowed down A LOT, but it's still only a minor issue -- don't go bananas on sweets and treats, mainly, and I try to stay under 140 lbs, because once I go over 140, it becomes much harder to get rid of it, with my slow metabolism. Currently I'm at 139, (I'm 5'6 1/2", used to be 5'7", but you know, shrinking -- runs in my family!) so I'd like to lose about 5 lbs. And the Hershey's Kisses xmas present are nearly gone! We were buying groceries last night, and when picking up cookies for my husband's lunches, I was seriously tempted to choose some for my own taste... but I managed to remind myself that I want to lose a little, not gain more. :D

Followed by shopping, then dinner. I can't seem to sleep past 5am this week. That's getting old quick.

Dinner was splendid :)

I haven't stepped on the scale yet this morning.... I think I might forgo it today
Today we are, as a group, going to Historic Stuart and looking at the boutique type shops to scope them out and see if I can find something for that August wedding. Basically window shopping. It is supposed to be sunny and about 73*. I don't think that the walking is going to count for much since slow walkers will be with us.

It's movement so.... LOL And getting my .... out of this chair :D

Yesterday went well. Lunch was turkey wrapped around a pickle, leftover steamed cabbage, and baby carrots.

Dinner we went to fazolis which I expected to be a landmine but... Ordered chicken parm. Had a side salad, two bread sticks, and just the piece of chicken with cheese. Didn't end up eating any of the spaghetti as I got way too full too fast. I am beginning to think my stomach has shrunk lol, I used to eat much bigger portions and now can barely eat at all (I suppose its a blessing in disguise)

Didn't get a work out in except about 20 minutes of yoga and pushing a really heavy cart for 2 hours when we went shopping after dinner. And took hoooours to fall asleep, then woke up early.I hate insomnia

Oh well fresh start today :)

I'm still hovering around my goal weight, although I'm down two pounds from the start of the week. Very little exercise due to some unwanted distractions, except for walking at lunch. We have added another coworker to our lunch walking and with all of us talking, those two miles fly by! I'm still eating clean. I'm gearing up to lose another 10 pounds...but I'm in no hurry.
