...I normally end up changing shortly before the intermittent firing of the Kick tells me it's dropped to 3.2v or below. But roughly the same amount of time for all intents and purposes.

I use my RSM at 4.8v with 1.7 ohm DCC's according to the calculator that is 13.55294

Put simply, variable wattage means you are choosing the output power. Variable voltage means you are choosing ONE component of the output power, but not the output power itself.
