Oh no :( I'm having a bit of trouble here. I have turned the dial to the max and still getting a very poor vape. The max voltage goes up to 3.5V underload on a 2.8 ohm atty and on a 2.2 ohm cartomiser its just 3.4V under load :(. Can some one please explain what I'm doing wrong. The batteries I tried are the AW IMR 18650 2000 mah and the AW imr 18490s and made sure they are fully charged.

Have you checked the ohms with a multimeter? Sometimes they slip a lr carto when you order several.

Nevermind, looks like the carto is low resistance. From what I've read, I would put noalox on the threads of the battery cap and make sure the ground connection is solid, if it's a rough or coated in any way, sand the contact point down for the ground or you could run a thin wire from the grounding spring on the kick down to the negative coil spring in the end cap. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the reply and help, truly appreciate it. Yes I just checked the resistance of the carto and the atty and they are accurate. I have just put the batteries on charge, just to make sure. I'll run some noalox on the mod and try again in sometime, I really hope it works.

Now cleaned the the threads, applied noalox, put in a a freshly charged battery, same carto at 2.2 ohms and on max setting on the kick still no luck just goes up to 3.5V. I'm gutted :(
It performs better without the kick in it :( what do I do please help.

With kick - 2.2 ohm carto - 3.5V

Well spill it Brother....LOL.... I beta tested the Kick in the P+500....I'm curious to hear some opinions. Especially battery life. Any issues?
Sorry for the delay, well I am experiencing some misfiring, I am not sure how to cure it, I tried prying the spring out a bit, and have tried sifferent combos of washers and orings but I still am having some issues, I am wondering if it might be the rough texture on the inside of the p+? I have not read through the rest of this thread yet to see if anyone else is having this issue but will be back this evening to go through it. When it does work right it hits great but I really want to get it hitting consistently every time.

Since my Precise+ 18650 arrived yesterday I was able to try out my Kick.. With the Kick turned all the way up and a SR Joye atty, when put under load it reads at 4.8 volts with a battery fresh off the charger... The thing does work as advertised, I actually vaped myself sick with the Kick in the highest setting..... Wow..........I need to turn it down a little... Really the way a Precise+ 18650 hits using Joye LR attys Im not sure if a Kick is really all that necessary for my vaping style... I know the plus side to using a Kick is that it will give the same voltage hits through out the battery charge............
My Precise was set up by David to use the AW 18650 2600mah batteries, and when using the Kick I only had to switch the batteries to the AW 18490 IMRs and drop the Kick on top........... The o-ring and switch washer count remained the same... Flawless........

So..... for those of you that have received your kick, and are using it in precise mods, what are your thoughts on it?

I'm specifically looking for reviews on using it with a p18 or p+18, and the p+ 18500.

Hi Jen, yes the Kick worked perfectly in the P+ 18.. and if yours is setup to use the AW 18650 2600 mah battery like mine is then it is a direct drop in with the same washer and o-ring setup.....
When on the high setting the Kick is to much for me, mabey I need to get some e-liquid other than 36mg(what I use) so I can enjoy it... Made me feel queasy....lol

workin great with my P18, only issue i can forsee is the wear and tear on the grounding spring...since the tolerances are so tight on the precise the spring is rubbing pretty hard against the threads. since the batteries are changed by the removing the top cap, the kick will have to be removed with every change of the batteries. we'll see how it holds up.

p.s. i was having issues at first getting it to fire consistantly. i just messed around with washers and o rings till i found the perfect fit. turns out 2 of the smaller orings stacked and 2 washers is perfect. fires every up every time now!

Where did you get your signature banner with a Precise Plus in it? Love it!!

I made it, but I received a rule infraction for it. It's too tall. I need to resize it. :)

Edit: I resized it, but it's not appearing on my posts yet. Not sure whether I just need to give it time to reappear in the forum threads or whatever. It does appear in my PM's though. Huh.

Have you tried cleaning the brass contact points of the kick? I cleaned and polished the kick contact points as soon as I took it out of the case so I can't say how it would have performed without the cleaning/polishing. All I can say is that I haven't had any problems yet. If anything, the kick is making me feel like a wuss because I keep having to turn down the wattage! Also, clean out the inner surface of the main tube. That may help a bit too.

Been messing with the kick all day now and still can't get it to work like it shoud. Just 3.5V output no matter what I put on it. Tried everything I possibly could and what I could gather from the various tutorials and vids. No luck at all. I'm so unhappy :(

Do you have a different MOD you could try it in, just to be sure?

I'm specifically looking for reviews on using it with a p18 or p+18, and the p+ 18500.

I've got it in a P+ 18500, direct dripping through IKV XLR 510's. I had to borrow some 18350 cells from Vaporologist, because God and everybody is all sold out of them. Thanks V!

Anyway, I started out with The Kick cranked up to 10 watts. It's now at about 8.5, and I think it'll stay there. The throat hit, flavor, vapor production, temperature, and everything is nirvana. Performance is consistently impressive and satisfying.

Your mileage may vary; but for me, a kicked 18350's longevity is similar to an unkicked 18490. I traditionally charge my 18490's when they dip down around 3.7 - 3.6 volts. At that voltage, they feel spent, and I'd rather have a fresh cell. Since the Kick squeezes power out of a cell down to 3.4 - 3.2 volts (if I recall correctly), I'm able to vape longer before charging than I would using the same cell without the Kick, if that makes sense. In other words, what would feel like a spent battery without the Kick still hits like it's got a full charge, so it's not obvious that my P+ 18500 is being fed by an 18350 battery. Oh, I might have gotten an extra 45 minutes more or so of vaping out of an 18490 than I do these 18350's, but at least for now I'm convinced that the consistency gained outweighs the slightly diminished capacity.
