What wick material are you using? I'm guessing you are getting pretty close to the capabilities of the juice channels, or getting above the limits of your wicking material...

Cotton. Said that in my last post. That's what I'm thinking too but that's why I'm wondering how everyone is able to vape up to 30 watts

Wow, thats a pretty big coil, But kind of short (7 wraps?) My guess would be a tight wick, that was usually my problem when I used cotton. You should try Rayon, I hardly ever get dry hits anymore, and Rayon is all I use now.

I was told to try a bigger diameter because the Lemo requires a lot of wick. I think it was like 6 wraps. I'm thinking about trying a parallel coil to get more surface area. How do you wrap yours?

I haven't looked into rayon too much not do I know much about it. I'll look into it.

Lol wow. Sorry didn't see that... I'm going to have to recommend rayon to you... I used to use cotton in my kayfuns etc, and would have to rewick every 2 days or so, and would always have bad flavor or burnt cotton.... With rayon I can go a week or more with perfect flavor. I've yet to burn a rayon wick and have been using it for months. I typically just change it because my coils get gunked up.

I have no idea how you're even vaping on the Lemo at 25+ watts. Just tried 25 and got a burnt hit right away. I can't seem to go over about 20 without burnt hits.

As noted, it's probably your wicking. I use rayon wicked bunny ear style and trim the tails a bit to thin them out. It wicks plenty fast enough at 30W. I'm guessing it would be good with even more power but I'm maxed out at 30W. I have an IPV2 on the way and I'll push the parallel build a little harder just to see what the limits of the wicking are in the Lemo.

Any idea why mine is drying out at 25 watts? I have a 28g 1.3 ohm single coil wrapped on a 7/64" drill bit with cotton.

So that would be a 6 wrap coil, right? That's a pretty hot coil at 25 Watts.

I think you'll have better luck using thicker wire with more wraps for more surface area.

In one of my Lemos, I'm running a 2.4mm coil using 10 wraps of 26ga wicked with Rayon. It's about 1.3Ω and I vape it at 20 Watts. It will vape fine up to at least 25 watts, but 30 is to hot and it starts to burn the wick.

Yesterday, in the other Lemo, I built a 2.4mm coil using 10 wraps of 24ga wire. 0.8Ω, wicked with cotton and it vapes easily at 30 Watts, but I've found my preference is still 20-25. Just for ....s and grins, I cranked my t5 up to 40 Watts, and still no burning, but it was to warm for my taste.

10 wraps of 28ga around a 1.5mm coil jig for 1.2Ω on my Evic Supreme. Wicked with KGD Japanese Cotton. Allows me to pull the full 30W at 6V without hitting the amp of voltage limiter, and vapes very nicely. In my experience, the KGD/Shiseido has a higher wattage limit than the regular organic drug store stuff.

I've also had a hard time finding Japanese cotton. Out of stock everywhere I look online.

In practice, I've found the KGD and Shiseido stuff identical, right down to feel, texture and 'weave,' so I suspect they're repackaged versions of the same product. I set a few email notifications and ended up getting lucky and grabbing 10 packages of the KGD. With 600 sheets, I figure I should be good for awhile... I do find there is a lot less waste with the Japanese cotton, since I typically cut a strip 2x wider than the coil, then pull apart into 2 pieces, so an entire sheet usually lasts around 20 rebuilds.

I still have about a jillion feet of rayon lying around, but since trying the japanese cotton, I like the way it wicks in my RTAs better, and now only occasionally use it in drippers.

I'm running my lemo with 24gauge 0.50ohm coil, with japanese cotton for wick, I actually got 3 pads free with the lemo when got it from ebay, but did order 200 pads from amazon for $10, took about 3 weeks to get here, but will last a really long time. I didn't like rayon, but do prefer the japanese cotton over normal organic cotton though, does seem to wick better with a cleaner taste.

Slightly OT, but I never liked building my Kayfun until I started using Japanese cotton. Now I use it all the time. Flavour was always muted before and it never wicked right, with a definite cotton taste.

Japanese cotton has also started making me wick differently - in my drippers, I cut the wick so the outside leg just touches the deck, then twist the two inside legs together around and on top of the center post to soak up juice as I drip it. It's been a game changer for me.

The lemo will most defiantly be my first rta. The fact that you can get a quality rta for $35-40 that isn't a clone is enough of a reason for me. I am realizing more and more everyday that I prefer a stronger air flow as well. I guess you can say I'm a mouth to lung hitter, I always just felt that a tighter draw means I gotta take a longer harder hit. Eleaf is really coming up, I just got my istick yesterday and I'm in love with it. It's nice to know that I can move up to the advanced vaping equipment without breaking the bank or resorting to cheap knock offs.
