My black Lemo started jumping resistance and I figured the coil was loose so I tore it down to check it out. I had a strand of twisted 24awg in my desk drawer and figured, what the hell. So, for all the people (nobody, I'm sure) wondering if twisted 24 will fit in the post holes, it will - with some coercion.

It vapes at 50W like it's ...... off at the world, lol. It wicks just fine although it's a tad warm even with the airflow wide open. Two second pulls result in a profound haze. I have drippers running at 80W that don't make this much fog. It's pretty intense. Probably not the optimal build for a Lemo but, since I have three of them, I'll leave this monstrosity installed for awhile.

The coil I have in my lemo now is a twisted 32 gauge at 1.6 ohm (1.8 mm diameter, 7-8 wraps I believe) and it is a beast. When I first came across twisted coils it seemed like kind of a gimmick to me (at most, a clever way to use some extra high gauge wire you have laying around), but after I tried it for myself I realized it does have benefits. Build wise, it functions like a lower gauge wire i.e. bigger surface area and more wraps. Performance wise is where is really shines in my opinion. Thinner wire heats up faster than thicker wire, so even though you can get the same resistance using a lower gauge wire with approximately the same diameter and number of wraps, the twisted coil using a higher gauge wire is going to perform better at a lower wattage/voltage setting. I think you kind of get the best of both worlds, a thicker coil that heats up faster.

you have twisted 24g on that? holy moly super low resistance. Dont the decks have insulators?

Shouldn't be a problem - it's not really that low - .54ohm. I run a .7ohm 26ga parallel in another one of my Lemos up to about 40W. There's enough airflow, I imagine, to keep the positive block insulator safe. If it didn't melt when I was dry burning this thing, it ain't gonna melt while vaping, lol.

I didn't know Rip Trippers had done a Lemo video. I just went and watched after reading your post and it's exactly what I thought his opinion would be about it. This is a product that appeals to lung hitters and he was in love with it. I think he was spot on with the good and the bad. I think Kayfun killer truly applies here.:2cool: well, it does for me anyway.

posted for others who haven't seen it.

Soooo, I got my Lemo today and holy airflow :) Used the coil that came with it since it looked well done, the resistance was 1.05. Chain vaping it at 20 watts with the airflow wide open on my rDNA40, no priming, and not even a hint of a dry hit. Flavor is good, would probably be better with the airflow closed off a bit, but it is so nice. Will be getting another one of these.

I rushed this one, just wanted to try it out. I will take my time and do cleaner coils next time, and probably do 12 wraps instead of 11 to get the resistance up a bit. Getting both of the 28g legs through the holes was no problem. When I take these off I will look closely at the bends and prebend them next time. Once bent, mounting them will be a snap.
