I'm not sure which brand they are, I got them from a local vape shop. I cut with the grain and I peel the mesh off both sides. Tease is the cotton.
That leads me to ask.
How are you doing your wicking?
I have vaped with Japanese cotton up to 80 watts with 80% vg in a Lemo and can tell you if you are getting dry hits then you need to rethink your wicking.
Not necessarily what you are using for a wick, but how you how you are wicking.
You've heard less is better, on a dripper I'd agree, but this is not a dripper, this is a rebuildable tank with a heating coil encapsulated in a small vacuum chamber and there for must keep that wick 100% saturated at all time, and able to keep up with with the rate of evaporation.
I say to you in the case of the Lemo more is better,.
I'm pretty sure that I've been working with a Lemo before most people ever heard of it, and have literally built hundreds of coil and wicking combinations.
And have discovered a h3ll of a lot of ways of how not to do it with kanthal and Ni200
The only method that now I use is my bridge wick method, search this thread for info.
this method works every time, and will give you the best consistant vape possible.
You can do it with or without the bridges, but I recommend using the bridges.
Once you have your coil wicked cut the wick tails 1/2 to 3/4 cm above the lower chimney
Use a small screwdriver or something small enough to block off the juice channels to keep them clear while you gently maneuver the ends of the coil tails down onto and across the lower deck, it is imperative you keep the juice channels clear.
The cotton in your coil needs to be pretty snug, not loose like you would do on a dripper.
Prejuice both ends of your wick before installing your top chimney, if you did everything right you should see juice just start to peak out from the lower juice channels on both sides, this is good and means your juice channels are open.
Make damn sure all your mating surfaces, orings and gaskets are clean and in good condition, especially the oring on the upper chimney , in fact lube it with a few drops of juice before you install the top cap.
If you do these things I will guarantee you will not get a dry hit or a leak period.
