I have a hard time with steeping myself being new to DIY.
Started mixing 30ml for some flavors I like so they see some steeping.

@ graff, I have 2 different M-type's mixed that I havent touched,, yet.

trust me... if you guys new me in person you would know that i am a highly inpatient person.. (i hope i spelled that right).. im not kidding when i tell you guys that i have the mail lady's personal cell number to see where she is on the day i know i will be receiving a package so i can go and pick the dam thing up myself.. which is exactly what i will be doing tomorrow morning for my WL package.. :) and no... i didnt put a gun to her head and make her give it to me.. its that the people at the usps warehouse got sick of my face there all the time and so the mail woman came up to me and said here.. "this is my number.. just call me when you will be receiving a package and you can come pick it up" i was like " and God said, let there be light!!!" shes awesome and spoils me for sure.. but its a perfect example.. i used to not be able to wait for my stuff to steep.. but after you taste it today and wait 3 weeks.. then taste it again.. its the only way you will understand..

i hate waiting.. the only reason i realized that i really do have to wait is because i left a bottle of that double ry4 in my car for about a month in the glove compartment.. and when it finally stopped raining i was able to wash my car.. and when i was cleaning it out i said " what the hell is this.." smelled it.. "dam this smells good" then vaped it " HOLY SHIII!!!!" mmm... i remembered .. " dam i left this in here .. i even remember putting it in here now".. and boooya!! i will steep this forever.. lol i love this joose.

You put the wings in the microwave while the broiler is heating up and put them under it for just a sec and they are much better.

I know what you mean about patience.. Last weekend I decided I'd try my leaf only tobacco project. so.. I had three 1/4 pound tobacco leaf samples, covered half the table with paper towel, and started with 3 leaves of each type. Sprayed them down good and let them sit until they softened up enough for me to unroll them, ripped out the spines, and ripped up the leaves.. then ehh I did a forth and 5th leaf.. Then I got out four 4 oz jars and filled them.. then got out another 4 with leftover leaf.. then got 2 more.. In the end 10 half/jelly jars and about 3,000 ml of nic mixing later I find out I missed a step and I have to re-work them all.

I need to crinkle them into buds. either into little round balls or roll them into little tiny tiny cigars. I'll try both methods..
Thank goodness I have little girly hands. I bought some gloves and I'll waiting for hubby to stop operating on his PC long enough to attempt to save this project.

I have a mess to clean up but I'll be good in the end. I never do anything small! :vapor:
It all needs a good month steep so this little 1 week goof will only be a minor setback.

i will be receiving my leaves tomorrow.. i cant wait (again, the patience thing) i have all the steps written down and everything.. i know exactly what to do..

They must have been busy when I made my order, seemed to take FOREVER for them to arrive.
I am very curious about the oriental types. I think I may make another order in a week or two and try those two.

That 1 month steep is going to seem to last forever. I did see my hubby back in the steeping cabinet looking at one of the jars yesterday :)

I hope the brightleaf virginia flue cured sweet vapes as good as it smells.

Excited to see how the steeping turns out for everyone, I've never used whole leaf, but my extractions have always suffered from major gunk/burning residues at the coil within 1 ml despite repeated filtration with coffee filters, cotton/syringe, SS mesh etc. It was invariably "omg this is heaven" followed by "wow...I'm smoking again..." after a short while.

My guess is that whole leaf will fare much better than cut tobacco, especially cut tobacco with goop in it (e.g. pipe tobacco)

Cyrus - I have been enjoying that Banana Nut Bread. I am not quite ready to venture onto new bananas, so it has me content for time being. Please, let me know what you thin of the molasses. Lol @ girly flavors.

I wrote a long post on the follow up of the BNB (Banana nut Brownie) with FA Apple mix, but ECF was wonking out on me, and it didn't get posted. I'll try and keep it short this time around.

It's really interesting. Even with the Apple at 10%, it's still more in the back round over the BNB counterpart. It's sharp, and I attribute this to the apple. It still holds elements of the buttery-ness from the B.Nut Bread, yet, also retains some of that juicyness from the Apple, mostly felt in the throat. I don't know if this blend would benefit from additional sweetener, or not.

Things I want to try with it:

#1 - TFA Smooth. I have some coming in, hopefully (if it ever arrives), and though I haven't ever tried it before, from what I've read, it might tone down the sharpness of this blend, and round it off overall.

#2 - Lemon Juice. I've read that using this in fruity flavors help them "pop", so to speak. I do not know if this will increase the sharpness of the blend, or even if it will work out at all. Just a thought, really.

#3 - Allowing it more time to steep. I think we all know that this isn't gonna happen :D I don't even know if I'd want it to. I have said before, the more I allow Banana Nut Bread to steep, the more the buttery flavor comes out. However, today I have been vaping on a bottle of the Banana Nut Brownie straight, (born on 11/18), and it's still fantastic.

I will say, this is an odd blend. I have tasted that fried apple flavor in a couple of hits. Other times I taste like a caramel apple sucker (on inhale, and yes, I do find this to be weird). I think I'm digging it, for real, but, it might need some tweaking. It seems that I get so very close to making something I will enjoy immensely, but then I find it's missing an element that I cannot describe. We shall see.

Well, I've some good news :)

I was hesitant to contact John about my missing package, because really, it wasn't his fault. I didn't order insurance with it, but none the less, once I brought the situation to his attention, he reassured me, and told me that he had me covered. He's shipping out a replacement Monday, :D For this, I am extremely grateful.

John, I don't know if you're ever reading these miscellaneous DIY threads, but if you are, thanks man. I can't say enough good things about this dude, and his company. And also, damn you USPS! *angry fist shaking*

Reporting 2 mixes tonight.

First up, 5% TFA Ripe Banana, 1% CAP Chocolate Fudge Brownie

I mixed this to see if it would reflect one of my favorites, the Banana Nut Brownie. And the consensus is? Nope! It's awful. In every blend I put even 1 drop of that brownie into, I can taste it so well, except this blend. The Ripe banana is the only thing I taste, and it tastes horrid. I suppose it tastes like banana flavoring... but I imagine it to be more like soap. Soapy funk, mixed with a tinge of maybe banana lip gloss. Just terrible. I'm not even going to add this in my collection of multiple juice bottle. Straight to the toilet!

Also, anyone interested in a bottle of Ripe banana flavoring ;)

This leads me to my next conclusion, one that I don't normally like to come to. This blend... may require.... some steep time :runforthehills: :D Though I don't want to, because it really doesn't taste bad, I'll leave it alone until tomorrow, and try it again. Maybe it just needs a little time for the flavorings to get to know one another. ...

(I cut out a few sentences of this quote, so that I can refer to just a few points)

into the toilet ? ( 5% ? The stuff is too potent for 5% )
wait ! ... just add some to the banana nut mixture ...Don't throw it out till you STEEEEEEP it lol ...adding the ripe banana at about 1 - 2% to the banana nut bread mixture tones down the butteriness... was what I did to make it better :)

And yes, some mixtures need a week or so for the flavors to marry :D

I read something to the effect that ripe banana tastes like runts vs. 'real' banana...your description of 'banana flavor' seems to fit with this. The post I found contrasted this with another TFA banana I believe. I was going to order the latter but decided not to overload my senses, its going to be tough enough sorting through what I have coming (which the USPS decided to sit on yesterday for no reason, wtfrak)

Anyway off to PA and MD for a few days, be back with a mixing frenzy on thurs morning :)
