Looks like that SS is 0.48 lb/ft. A 5 ml nominal tank would be 25mm, + 7 mm for the end caps, or about 32mm total, 1.26". That would be 0.8 ounces (plus the end caps, used either way). Maybe 0.5 ounces more than polycarbonate?
Anyhow, poly works for me, though an anodized aluminum would be quite nice (in black, of course) :) (Yeah, it's Friday afternoon, so looking up material properties before going for a run.)

A picture ;)

As you can see the unit is just a tad long for a normal boge carto.

The other pic is with a dual coil mega from altsmoke. It is snug so I haven't seen a leaks yet.

I LOVE the screw. It keeps everything tight in the tank. Absolutely no slippage. I could screw the tank on the PV using the tank itself. Wonderful design!

I am going to strip this sticker off one of these magas and see how it wicks.

I should have some dual coil megas from madvapes that should be here Monday.

Just checking in ;)

Asked and answered. Using Pyrex or anything else would introduce a whole new set of problems. Shattering being a big one, but increased cost also being a huge hurdle. You'd prob have to get this tube custom made, and all of a sudden we're talking about a $100 tank.

Even the UFS uses a Polycarbonate tube. It's the only practical material.

It seems to me that the only way to do it right with Pyrex is to hand blow it and make it something really pretty, just as they do with "tobacco" pipes (if you know what I mean), with really nice colors maybe have a handblown lizard sticking to the side etc. And I do not see how something like that will bring the cost to $100 dollars as I have seen beautiful pipes at low cost between $30 - $75 and they are bigger with more work. Obviously there are ones that are much more expensive, but those pieces are either works of art or MUCH bigger. I have a firend who actually handblows glass, he does everything, incuding pipes. I also have a friend who collects them and he does not use them, he just thinks they are pretty. A handblown tank like that would be worthy of the increased price.

I'm not saying that Mike should do something like this or that I'd even buy one (but I might), just thinking out loud. I've always loved handblown glass it is a beautiful art.

Forget the hassle and the price LMAO. If its hand blown its not tempered like lab grade glass anyway. Thus it wont take much abuse. Needs to be something like coffee pots are made of. Ive dropped one of those on concrete and watched them bounce.

Stick to what youve got. Its gonna be a winner IMO

all falls back to K.I.S.S ;)

Where do you get your coffee pots? I can't tell you how many I've had to replace.

I'm wondering the same thing. Of course, it's nice to see your liquid level. But if we can keep up with refilling and topping off cartos constantly, we should be able to handle a tank we can't see through, don'tcha think?

I wouldn't use a tank if I couldn't see the juice level.

Prototype on the buzz. This prototype length is perfect with the dual coil megas.

Also, I filled it up using the screw hole (why is it bad to say that?) and a short syringe. Everything worked very well with no leaks. Well this is first impressions, so we will see how it vapes over the next day or so.

I say great job!

I get them from the restaurant supply store where I buy catering supplies. I dropped one once, hit the tile floor, bounced back up and I caught it by the handle. Looked like one of those videos they play backwards. Would LOVE to have caught it on camera. It was one of those "did that just happen" moments...

Well they've mentioned Lexan, Pyrex, Syringes cut off, etc. so I guess I'll be the one to mention Quartz.

I LOVE the screw. It keeps everything tight in the tank. Absolutely no slippage. I could screw the tank on the PV using the tank itself. Wonderful design!

Are you talking about the filler screw or is there a screw holding the tank together somewhere?

It performs both functions... At least that is what I assume. I just took the screw completely out and used it's hole to fill. If you screw the screw all the way in, the screw presses against the carto keeping it tight and secure with the tank. Seemed like the logical thing to do instead of pushing and pulling on the carto. I would assume shifting the carto in and out all the time might put extra wear and tear on the o rings.

We will have a shorter Tube as well I am sorting out the exact length

The filler screw is long enough to hit the carto this holds the tank in place or LOCKS it so it is the M1A1 LOCKING Tank now ( actually it was an accident that worked out LOL ! )

One thing I noticed is that if you cover the screw hole too much while filling, the pressure increases inside the tank. When this happens I notice juice coming out the thread end of the carto. Anyone else notice this? Perhaps I sliced my slots too long? Maybe jiggling the juice around too much? Just checking in to see if anyone else saw this.
