Just try to keep the cylinder a cylinder and you should be fine.
Through the top?
Edit** I just got a PM asking if I sell this tank and I want to make it clear that I do not. I posted the picture just to give Mike a different idea. I just thought the top port was interesting. I tried very hard to get one of these last year but found it wasn't worth the effort. It was very expensive and never really made it to market. Sorry if I overstepped.
I have both drills and dremels, but I don't have a spring load punch (any excuse to buy a new toy, and for $10 with adjustable depth, what the heck)
Has anyone tried something like this to punch cartos? General Tools and Instruments
Don't have a tank yet, but for $10 at HD I might pick one up just to play with![]()
Very close (not 90-degree, but very close). But what bottle will they screw onto?
This is driving me crazy, because I've SEEN the damn things I have in my mind, I just can't find them. I've pounded my fingers dead web surfing for them.
Mike, I would give it a try anyway just because I like you guys. My hope is you would offer it as an option for that 6-32 machine screw thingy. If not...I would take it to a tool place and ask them to switch it out for me. I honestly know nothing about screw sizes and certain tools and little connector thingys people talk about here. What seems like simple terminology for some is a forein language to others. Myself and others don't have and/or don't want "handy hubbies or boyfriends" hanging around to do alot of stuff for us that comes naturally to many of you. It's "hands on-show me" ...and THEN/USUALLY the lightbulb turns on for me. In fact, it always helps me when people here post pics and diagrams. I love that!! It really helps clarify certain subjects that are a topic of discussion.
Are you going to stock those as well???
Buzz,
Let's make a bet: these tanks will crack just like all of the others which have used polycarbonate. PC is an amorphous plastic which has only very moderate Resistance to a phenomena known to polymer chemists as ESCR. Now, this will not happen with all juices, but it will happen with some. The problem is that you want a clear plastic tube, and most clear plastics do not have very good ESCR resistance. There are some with much better properties, but since you are paying your stock supplier for material and not me, he should be the one to advise you.
There are some types of glass that are very tough to mechanical impact while also being impervious to basically any chemical-or at least any that are found in vaping.
lol Yea, but my guy has a last name Grips. The one I thing I don't have is a vice. At least I don't think I do. The garage is a mess. lolOh you mean that guy named " VICE "
I have lots of power tools, tons of drills, etc. That's what I'll be using. Now I just need to find someone who is willing to hold the carto for me while I drill holes in it. lol
There is such a better way to punch that carto so easy a caveman could do it, take about an 8" piece of a 2x4 and drill a hole so the carto slides in the end ( this way it cant ever move and your fingers dont have to hold it. drill a hole down through the top side of the 2x4 so every one you do is in the exact same place. Now you can use your nail or set you jig up so the drill only goes to the exact depth every time and makes the perfectly drilled hole every time, which ever you chose. A simple Jig is worth the small amount of time it takes to make one ;-)
Cat I may offer a flat screw type setup instead of the THUMB screw ? not sure yet but go into ANY Home depot or Ace and ask far a 6-32 screw and they will KNow exactly what we are talking about so not a big deal girl !
I have samples coming and will test them out first
I am not trying to make a Radiation resistant tank here Tony just a GOOD one ! Pyrex could be used but 95% of people do not need it IMO ? might be wrong , been before ! LOL![]()
These are about as close to the filler bottles I was thinking of as I could find. The smallest one is 60ml; that'd work.

I ordered one of those bottles that a regular needle goes on and I'll pick up some of these to go on it.
