I've thought about picking one up but I've very hesitant. I have a sigelei 8 and after about two weeks of use I encountered a massive voltage drop. With a brand new 18650 fully charged it hits like its only ~3.4v.

Cavere, The only thing I can think of is that the switch on the sigelei 8 is entirely different than the one on the 8W. I have a KTS Storm with a bottom (side) switch and I love it, however you do need to polish the contacts once in awhile to get good conductivity. I might suggest some very fine automotive grit paper. I think I use 300 grit to polish up my contacts.

As far as the 8W. It is a beautiful device, "IF" you like a bottom switch. Also it has a larger circumference than the KTS Storm or Sigelei 8.

Just make sure that any "package deal" you get has both 18650 as well as 18350 tubes included plus a NON GLUED SWITCH. If you are really into making a "replica" of the Caravella, almost any shop that makes trophy items can laser etch the little ship and even a fake serial number if you want for $10 to $15. Personally I did not go that far.

Best Wishes
Wabbit

Remove the spring, if you haven't already. Should give you nearly 0.5v back.

The 8 is a pinky button not bottom switch. I have removed the bottom spring. I've done some work which has brought it up a bit but still doesn't as hard as it should.

hmm yah, I found the #8 to be inferior to the #8w, even after fiddling with it. The #8w hit extremely well out of the box. Comparable to my Nemesis and Poldiac.

So mine will be here in 3 days from exhale vapors. Both tubes with coupon code only 31.00 ship included. It was a gift since I'm at hospital waiting on baby to be born, figiured I would buy before I'm baby having poor lol. Funny how first three pages are all negative about the 8w and then 30+ pages of people that actually own it saying positve minus old button lol. Can't understand how people that don't even own it can talk bad about it, vaping is an odd hobby I tell ya. Strapped

Mob mentality... easy way to up the post count. ;-)

I've had quite a few Sigeleis. The most recent, a "Silver Dragon" is beat up in some US and UK forums for being "big" and "ugly"... but it's neither IMO... and it works quite nicely. Space the button shaft to shorten the throw and you're in vapin' business.

Yeah I have a lot of mods that people down and I find great but I really don't think the people that bad mouth them even own one. Case in point the sent. M16 clone all brass is by far the best mod I have ever used. Great quality, really well built, its best hitting mod pound for pound with almost zero voltage drop, just honestly one hell of a mod and at 18.00 the worst part is fasttech shipping and having to polish a lot to keep it shiny. I used nano polish and carnuba wax and I get 3-4 days before tarnished kicks in.... Only reason I even say this is it extremly under rated and I have not had time to do solid review.... I think this 8w isgoing to be great with only minor mods and no reason for people to down it unless they didn't try to fix button... Mods are based imo on the maker willing to r&d and seems sigelei is open to try.

This is another one I've seen people trash, yet in my opinion it's REALLY hard to fault ... the build quality blows my mind for $27, and it has all the goodies one could want ... air control, floating pin, super smooth threads, laser etching, etc.

To clearify when I saw m16 clone I don't mean a v2/v3 or the tvs cloan. There is a solid brass m16 clone with no ribs. I am looking to do some modding to the 8w after a couple of weeks of vaping. I am looking for mod caps and going to plasti dip it for fun. Reading wabbit etched so just seems like a nice following of people that own this mod.

I hate to say it but the reason I didn't go after that clone was because of all the bad mouthing but I think after a couple weeks I will pull trigger on the ss one. I'm delivery room as I type with wife about to have first child so money could be tight. The.sigelei 8w was present sorta from wife to celebrate our first child.

Nice photo! Quick question, since you mentioned polishing....The brass parts actually ARE brass on this mod, right? I ask because I started to polish mine the other day and noticed some imperfections sorta like....smudges in the metal on the top cap and I stopped polishing. I didn't want to strip it if it was plated. I did that by accident to my cheapo (but actually pretty great) two-tone China GG.

Yea I'm really liking the 8W, but I think I might actually get a slightly stronger spring so it doesn't have as much wobble. Here is a pic along side my M16 and EHPRO EA Clone. I got a little lazy on the M16 and I'm gonna fix my polish job looks kinda crappy.

So just got my 8W in the mail today ... quite beautiful to behold.

The switch is definitely a step down from my Chi You clone, as it has a lot of wobble to it. I did the o-ring from a CE4 trick to reduce the throw, are there any other tricks to make it better?

Also, what are you guys using to polish yours? I was thinking of ordering a buffing wheel on the Dremel, but wasn't sure what kind of polish to use.

Thanks!
