Hey 4thPower,
You inspired me to a bit of tinkering of my own. I got the RSST to work as you did. But I wanted to be able to use other atty's on the mod.

I had an extra 19b top laying around so I used the insulator and the firing pin from that. I cut down one of the insulators to fit down inside the long 510 threading. I also cut down another insulator (from the 19b) and threaded it into the other end of the long 510 neck.
I shortened the brass firing pin and threaded it into the bottom of the of the insulator.
I needed to make the connection to the top of the 510 threading(because all of the threaded firing pins are to short) so I cut a short length of 1/8'' brass rod to make up the difference of the short firing pin.
Now I am able to use any atty on top of the The 4thPower3 Hybrid.

I polished up the RSST to shine like the batt. tube.
Yes..... They both work just fine.

No, I don't do voltage drop tests on mech devices. I think the info and testing regarding voltage drops on mech mods is all bs.

It's not BS that why people or that why I would pay more for a mech mod that has minimal voltage drop. If you are a mech mod user voltage drop is everything because being at the mercy of your battery it matters. I do understand that the resistance of the atty, even the internal resistance of the battery, and design of the mod all contributes to voltage drop. "low ohm coil" produce more amp output which at the same time uses more voltage causing a larger drop. As for batteries they have internal resistance when current is drawn from them causes a voltage drop thats why good batteries are important and using same battery same atty head or coil as a control variable when you compare mech mods. Voltage drop is important because using a mech mod that has a terrible voltage drop example .7 so on a fully charge battery at 4.2 you only able to use 3.5 volts when using the mech mod. On high end mech mods including well built mech mods (8W sigelei) .15-.2 voltage drop is common therefore on a battery at 4.2 volts we are actually using 4.0 volts. So at the voltage we are using in our batteries (max 4.2) a .5 voltage drop is very significant. My natural dropped at .9 when I received it out of the box which is horrible but after tweaking it hits harder than my 8W now it drops maybe .1-.15 volts on the same .8 ohm coil head using same batteries etc....

I am still interested to see ehpro caravela clone voltage drop for a comparison on build quality.

I didn't give much thought to voltage drop until I got my Rainbow Heaven Hybrid Elite.
Now THAT is some #($!ing voltage drop!!!
That thread is all about combating it by doing various modifications to the switch.
As-is, it's nigh-unusable. Weak, anemic vapor, weak flavor, etc. and that is on a .9Ohm coil.
So voltage drop is real. To me.
Sorta like....talking sharks.

I will point out before really anybody had them in hand I warned of this in the thread. the original had brass contacts and when the current revision came out and shipped I was told about the spring and voltage drop.

I never said voltage drop is bs.
I said the info and testing with regard to voltage drop it bs.
Differences in testing methodology and batteries by different people all come out with different results.
Which is why I choose not participate in such discussions or believe what most people post about their tests.

Only case I would be concerned with voltage drop in a mech device would be in one that uses a hot spring contact.

Beyond that the battery is most important factor.

Voltage drop across the total combined internal resistance of a mech is given by a familiar formula E=IR. Higher current draw means more voltage drop. As a result, voltage drop alone doesn't always give enough info. A lower power draw build will result in less drop than a high power draw build with the same battery and mech.

I have a multimeter (HP 3456A) that can measure the resistance of the mech down to the hundreds of micro-ohms. I'm determined to pull it out and measure this little gem using a copper slug as the "battery." I'll post the results for whatever it's worth.

That will be interesting to see. I don't think there's much appreciable voltage drop in the 8w. I was mostly referring to the Hybrid Elite, where the voltage drop was immediately noticeable even to a numbskull like me. But folks in the thread dedicated to THAT device came up with an excellent solution, so it's now one of my favorites out of my handful of cheap mechanicals and hybrids.

I got no real complaints with the 8W. :)

I've been lurking on this thread ever since my finger was hovering, then hit that buy button. (thanks to all the contributors before me) I've had mine for a couple weeks now, and have made no real modifications, as I love it. I run it in both 18350 & 650 mode and find it great in both with my rsst and various drippers. It's really only my 2nd mech, but compared to my natural, I can really see what people are saying about this one having better conductivity. Even with my natural sanded and modded, it doesn't feel as strong as the 8w. Plus I'm realky liking a bottom button a lot more.

Finger is inching towards mouse... sure is a fine looking mech

Do it, here's mine, with no prettying up (I never baby or polish my stuff) in 18350 next to an 18650 battery. I love how diminutive it is.
