Can someone please explain how the 510 center pin adjusts. I have seen some exploded views of the 510 center pin, but it is not clear enough to tell if it has threads or if it's a faux floating pin. I tried turning it, but I can't seem to get a good grip on it from the underside.

P.S. I just received the 2 tube, un-glued button set from VaporTek an hour ago and it is pretty damn nice. Looks and hits great, button is not stiff (comparable to my K100) and relatively short throw.
I just need to shine up that brass now.

There are two screws in the top cap, both are accessible from below. The center pin can be adjusted by the greater diameter screw. You have to grab it with your fingernails or pliers. So, you can seat the atty, then screw the greater diameter in until firm, then unscrew the smaller diameter screw to take out battery slop.

I went through the same thing you are when I first got mine

Quick observation on why they glued the switch on the 8W. When I put my newly engraved tube back on my 8W, I immediately noticed that the switch seemed VERY easy to activate. I later put in a battery just to check things out and it actually seemed too easy to fire. I could not put it down on its end without firing. I found that from just unscrewing the top and bottom a few times that the negative screw contact in the switch had unscrewed quite a bit, allowing it to fire a lot easier. Just screwing it back in firmly returned it to normal operation. If you were not aware of this, it could be a major problem if you stood your 8W on end and burned out a carto or worse caused it to overheat and explode. So this is probably why they decided to glue in the post on the switch.

Still enjoying this mod, especially with the new switch and modified smaller spring.

Best Wishes

Well guys and gals, the engraver called and I went and picked up my 18350 tube. Just about what I expected for $10.00. Not bad at all and I am satisfied. I don't know whether I will have the 18650 tube done or not.

I wonder if there's any reduction in conductivity when the screw is loosened a bit. If not, I think you could adjust it just enough so that it was softer but still doesn't fire while standing on it. You'd have to check it each time you replaced the battery, if you do it through the bottom cap.

Grr, the threads on this thing have sliced my fingers more times than I can count at this point. I really like it tho. The bottom screw ( on the top cap ) is really loose. How have you guys been dealing with it? I can get it set just right- then when I unscrew to replace the battery it gets loose. Thoughts? Would love to set it and forget it as my batteries are all the same..

I noticed that also, but since I don't change batteries but once a day, I just have to "now" remember to check the top and bottom screw adjustments. Once set for the day, everything is absolutely great. I recall the old song, never make a pretty woman your wife if you want to be happy the rest of your life. Well all of us have a pretty woman on our hands here, but we may never be happy with the adjustments.

Overall, I like the Nemesis mod - second from the left, with the AC9. Both are extremely well built and functional. The button on the Nemesis is like butter and fires consistently. They are a little heavy together, but I do carry them out with me. The Ba Gua with the Arrow atomizer is quite nice too. It's smaller and lighter, and the Arrow has a nice locking mechanism, which makes it really portable. I run a sub-ohm dual coil in it, so it hits quite nicely. The Sigelei #8ws are good performers and incredibly reasonably priced. The buttons are very stiff but work well, if you develop a technique for pressing them.

I got my Sigelei 8w the other day, and overall I like it. Though, the play that the button has bugs me when I have it stand it up without the lock on. The button came without glue and the spring rather easy to press. I figure it has a different spring in it, considering I've had one of the older ones in my hands before. Oh well! Voltage drop feels rather low. Low enough I don't feel the need to measure it, though I will tomorrow.

Zero, I think you are correct. The spring that came in my (not glued) switch was much easier to activate. When I cut off one coil, it became even easier to activate, BUT the wobble became more pronounced so be warned, if you decide to cut the spring a little shorter. Other than that it is a great mod. I still use my Vamo in 18650 mode 90% of the time at home and my KTS Storm in 18350 mode when out and about.
