Can anyone give not just guesswork but a definitive answer to the question of whether or not using the Opus as a passthrough in the car will shorten the overall battery life of the Opus? In other words, is using the Opus as a passthrough bad for its internal battery? I'd like to know about personal experiences with doing this but also need a 'professional' answer.

I'm talking about using it as a passthrough when the battery is run down, or just about run down, not just choosing to use the passthrough 'instead of' it's own internal battery.

The OpusD can be used while it is charging but its not a TRUE pass-through. So you are just interrupting the charge while using it when it is plugged in.
I would not suggest charging any batteries in the car, including the Opus D...I know it works but depending on the charger, your cars circuitry, connections, and other possible factors, i just dont trust it personally.
Its possible, but I wouldn't do it unless it was ABSOLUTELY necessary.

Thanks Drew, it's my daughter's. Her job keeps her on the road a lot during the day. The way she used the Darwin was to charge it every night but when it got to the point where it'd die on the road, she'd use it as a passthrough in the car and it worked great. I don't know if she had a regulated cig lighter that protected it or not. I was just wondering if she could do the same with the Opus when it gets to the point where it won't last her thru the day. The way mine is working right now, her Opus should last plenty long enough.

Speaking of passthroughs, I think a good alternative would be for her to just keep a 'real' passthrough in the car for those 'emergencies'. Does anyone here know if there are any good ones? The one's I had long ago weren't worth much. Does anybody make a good one today?

Pelton, are you just a salesman for Drew or do you really like that PT?

I wish I was a salesman for him, if probably have a lot more vape gear!

Lol no I'm no salesman for anyone, but for $15 you get a little tiny gadget that you can keep in your car at all times just in case something happens.

The thing is so tiny and so simple to use. Honestly on long trips I find myself using it just so I don't waste my other batteries.

I've noticed mine can sometimes come of the charger at all sorts of weird levels. Then it slowly builds itself up to full, my black one that is. My blue one however the battery is no longer holding a charge for more than 2 hours. I've just been to busy to contact the nHaler team about it.

I charged my opus d all night last night. Woke up this morning to it halfway charged. Do I have a defect or does it take 15 hrs to get a full charge?

I sent an email to to opus and Roger called me immediately with some help. He recommended that I ignore the battery indicator and see if it still performs throughout the day. He also recommended that I try a different charger. So now I have to go out and buy a new charger for a device that I paid 250 bucks for. Happy with the device so far but for the price I didnt think these issues would happen. Hoping it all works out, regardless I know they will replace or repair the device if needed.

akfo7 I'm with you. For the price point you shouldn't have any issues. But I've found that a lot of the issues folks encounter are with the board itself. Which Drew nor Opus created. The bits that they have created (body, button, wattage adjustment wheel) all works perfectly. Most of the "defects" people notice are with the DNA board. Hell right now I'm vaping my black Opus that's reading 0 ohms, it's takes to dang long to drain these little beauties so I've just been dealing with it. Man, now I sound like a salesman for nHaler. :D

As for the charger, I wholeheartedly agree. I too feel as though the charger is lacking in the quality department. Forgive me for saying this Drew. But for $250 a better charger wouldn't be too much to ask would it? No offense intended, I still love you guys and all my nHaler products!

I was told to send it in for repairs, I've used the opus d for barely 2 days and its already crapped out on me. What infuriates me more than this is that I have to pay for the shipping to get it repaired. So far this company is a joke. *edit* The guy I have been working with has been very courteous and professional but as a whole I feel ripped off completely.
