These experiments are good, its the only way to get things ironed out. After 4 fills of 100% VG Big D I'm thinking it might be time for a dry burn? Your coils might be covered in crud --> to the off taste?

I have two going now, side by side

1) pulled up on the post, hitting like a champ

2) pulled out some wick, the post is flush, just started

I should add number three, unmodded plus the silicon air control, but I'm going to blow a gasket if my serum nic gets any higher LOL

well I just got home and put one of mine back on my provari and dropped the voltage all the way to 3v and it actually started doing better except no TH at all 50/50 diy juice @18mg then I sat it down to read some of the posts here it was about 3/4 full reached for it and it was down to about 1/4 took a draw and gurgle pulled it off and it had leaked all thru center tube all over my provari so I am at a loss at the moment

Filled up my first Phoenix with NLV BH. Dry scratchy hits at first so I backed the power down to 5.5 watts and no dry hits. It is getting better as I vape on it but I am used to vaping around 8-10 watts so it is a bit anemic at this point. I am going to try and get it wicking a bit better so I can put some more power to it. If I can get to 7 watts I think it will be perfect

my 3ml carto is really starting to fire. now it is vaping better than the xl. i havent done any modding on either one of them, i can chain vape (chain vaping to me is back to back 6 or 7 times, no more than a second between the puffs). no dry hits, no modding, im using 70pg 30 vg. awesome flavor and throat hit is slightly better on the 3ml presently. i have never gotten as much vapor out of any carto as im getting out of both phoenixes.

The Phoenix out of the box is an amazing vape bar none! All I did was fill wait about 5 minutes and threw it on the Provari at 4.1 and WOW. I have Vapor..... Cracked juice 50/50 pg/vg mix. I am having NO wicking issues and this is a thick juice for being a 50/50 mix, The flavor is so clean and full nothing muted, no wierd break in flavor, nada, just amazing, did I say that yet? :)

Dan & Chris, I am not easily impressed at all, and this product did just that.

Ok... I modded one for use on a DCT XL size tank... it is too early to report how it works since I've only been vaping on it for about 15m now.. Still, I'll pass on a bit of info for others to consider if they wish to try it.

First... the outer tube is a smidge bigger than a standard XL carto... so it is a VERY tight fit to get the end caps on. The bottom end cap will not go down around where the outer tub is held to the 510 connector, so take that into consideration when making holes or slots.

I drilled 2 1/16" holes using a pin vise about the center of the lower flange on the tube that goes over the coils... another one at the top just below the filling seal. You can judge just about where to place yours by comparing your tank to the Phoenix tube itself... I would also suggest much bigger holes or probably better yet would be some slots... I lost a lot of juice trying to fill the tank with the tiny holes I drilled ( it comes back out the center tube )

As I mentioned.. it is too early for a vape report but I can say that right now it has started out working just like a new Phoenix does without the mods... if that continues still remains to be seen.

OK, done this to 2 of them so far. Great vape, flavor, no leaking, no dry hits.
1) remove mouth piece, use a paperclip

2) remove inner silicone seal that is contacting the stem (pay attention to the orientation, concave part faces mouth piece) used a paperclip in the fill hole.

3) use small pliers to pull the stem up about 1/10 of an inch

4) replace seal with in proper direction.

5) chain vape

modded is on the left, factory is on the right:

Cool?

Here's another pic if you can't see that:

This works good. No dry hits chain vaping at 7 watts but the flavor is a bit muted compared to an atty. It is much better than a poly carto

ok tried the 70/30 mix @ 3.7 it is ok flavor is there but still less than my carto tank and absolutely no TH at all anything above 3.7v and it starts giving dry hits with regularity so after trying 3 out of the box with different juices the last one being the same juice I have in my carto tank so I can compare the 2 I can honestly say these things will not perform as they were hyped without tinkering with them first and when I am paying 12 bucks a box I don't want to have to fix every single one before I use them so right now I am kinda bummed that I bought 4 boxes

Errol do you want to see my high VG vapor? Come on, admit it.... ;) lol

As I understand it VG will always provide better vapor but the viscosity presents problems wicking in many vaporizers. But yes I want vapor that fills the air for two feet around my head.

I've always used 100% VG until recently when I started experimenting to try to get better wicking. Like the taste and vapor from VG best but a compromise is necessary with some unit.

Until a couple of months back 901atty dripping was my primary vape over any of the dozens of different units I had tried with the exception of the DC Echo and I got used to that type vapor and flavor but finally tried a VISION DEUX I had purchased months before and it became one of my favorite vapes along with the DC Echo. Have tried many clearos since and other than the Stone most haven't been satisfying including the CE3-XL but I decided to try the Phoenix to see if it's any better. Will get to it later for a comparison.

and I still don't understand why VG gives more vapor when i believe it is PG that is actually used in fog machines of course I could be wrong there

Steve K had that happen to him and it messed up his Provari to where he couldn't set the volts. If you should have any problems you may want to look at his experience and solution. Scary ProVari Cleaning Advice
