Ok. So everyone love the bottom coil Phoenix...

When are the top coil ones coming?!?!?

Love is hardly the word I would use for my feeling for them after several attemps trimming wicks, pulling up on the post, using diffent juices they are still at best ok nowhere near what they were hyped it would have nice to know these were meant for low voltage that probably should have been mentioned in some of the hype videos imo the vision clearomizers still produce the best flavor vapor and throat hit of anything out there and the carto tanks offer the easiest filling method as well as no leakage at all these are at best average just like the sapphire and the vornado

So... If I'm getting dry hit after dry hit and I'm filling it properly, Pull up the post a little? Is that the only thing? I threw away my first one, and I'm a little hesitant to try again and waste juice. Lol.

Yes, there are pics of what it looks like in this long thread. Decided to fiddle with it. Mine were hitting excellent at 3.7 but at 4.0 volts, I'd get a dry hit after the third hit but could chain vape like a train at 3.7. I pulled up the post just a little bit and yep, 4.0 no issues. 3.7 just as good as before. Notice that the bubbles are "bigger" but that just might be me. At least try it before you toss it.

Cool I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

try this, after filling all the way, ull back some juice to leave a little air then try to vape and let us know

I have to admit, the betas I had reminded me of the 2nd version of the Fluxo, as far as their hit. I really liked it. If Badkolo thinks it's okay, maybe I will sneak one into the Phoenix 3ML review -- noted as a beta, of course. :)

These are not perfect units. The fail rate out of the box is high enough to say that. I never buy a clearo without expecting to mod it and work on it for a while, its just the price we pay to be rid of nasty filler and enjoy perfect flavor.

The best fix I've found is to not only trim the wicks flush as in Lord Davon's awesome video, but to thin them out by about 40%. Yes it looks and sounds scary, but it works best for me. I'm having absolutely no problems running unregulated 3.7 volt rivas fresh off the charger on these at 2.4 ohms. And I'm also not having any problems putting them on my freshly charged puck (which comes off the charger at 5.5ish volts) so long as I don't chain vape.

I've compared trimmed wicks to trimmed and thinned, and the latter works best for me. Lifting the post works, but its too liable to misfire, as in doing nothing or doing too much (flooding) for you. If anyone needs help, shoot me a pm.

For me anyway, a low voltage vaper, they are much better than the sapphire and vornado. Almost as good as the stardust. But a lot cheaper!

Nahhhhhh, nah, nah - don't do my Stardust like that! :D Phoenix is good, I think. But, ultimately, it's still a bottom coil. IMHO, while the taste is great for a bottom coil (I came down off my original high about them a tad), it's still not that close to a Stardust taste-wise, or to wicking perfection of Visions Reg. (or micro for that matter - those *really* rock with taste and wicking). And, still, nothing but nothing beats Stardust for looks. LOL (though the first release was *still* head and shoulders above the subsequent ones... gripe, moan, sigh, grumble, growl)

BTW - did you guys see the new colorful Stardusts on the Visions site? They are like candy-colored - waaaaaaay too bright. (whining). Undignified. I like the current colors! (can't please them all) lol

Bravo. Hadn't tried the thinned wick trick...yet. But the trimmed to flush has the latest one with slightly thinned VG rocking@4v

5 out of 5 outstanding out of the box with 100% PG. The spousal unit doesn't do syringes. I fill er up 5 at a time.

The one with the haircut leaked out on 1st fill. Had nothing to do with the wick, or reassembly. Filled again, but this time only as far as to the metal and was good to go. So it would appear that overfilling can lead to siphoning out of the juice.\\

Edit: Strike the overfill leads to leak out theory.

This one started to leak out again after refilling. It's all about having a completely airtight seal at the top. After filling, I watched carefully for a few minutes to be sure I had no leaking. Screwed it on my PV, popped in MY drip tip, not the factory rubber, but the same 510 I've been using. Started to pour out the bottom. Pulled the drip tip out, leak stopped. So it seems pretty obvious that this drip tip is expanding the tube just enough...sometimes, to break the air seal. Using the factory tip now till I can mod my o-rings.

i agree with cyrus, thin liquids seem to work flawlessly on these things. i have tired putting little thicker liquids in these (thicker than usual 70pg/30vg) and i start getting wicking issues.
every time i inject runnier liquids in these, i get perfect wicking.

edit: day #4 with xl cartos, quick rinse and she is vaping like new. not one dry hit and awesome vapor/flavor/throat hit. when i put thicker juices in it, the vapor and flavor suffer a little bit. the thinner stuff works very very good. if anyone is familiar with vaporgod viscosity liquids, they are ideal.
11 refills= 16ml through this carto so far.

You know, I completely missed the part about having to fill the entire tank up with no air left inside. I haven't done that once and it has yet to leak at all. Well, aside from the time I did a few too many primer draws just to see what you were all going on about. It flooded and got a little messy, but I didn't need to do it in the first place.

Anyway, I usually fill it up 1/3 of the way since I like to change flavors a lot. No problems whatsoever. Did I just get lucky? This is the 3ml tank I'm talking about, by the way.
