bottom coil = cooler
Toothpick in one of the holes will reduce draw by 1/2, ALL mine have one of the holes closed and i still use a rubber ring to reduce it more sometimes, running 90% success with the XL's, 100% (more like 150% i like them so much too) with the big 3.3's
GOOD JOB KIDS

This is why I got the 2.4-2.6 because I had read bottom coil is cooler...but I didn't expect it to be this cool!

OK...silly question, but which holes are you talking about? DUH...never mind....I found them, on the screw end! Really?...a toothpick? Need to try this, but those holes looks so tiny to try and get a toothpick in there!

It's in the nature of a bottom coil cartomizer that the vapor will always be warmer. I prefer the warmth you get from a top coil, and hopefully soon the new top coil Phoenix will be arriving.

Here is my fix for an airy draw on a cartomizer. Cut a 1/8" piece of Teflon Plumbing Tape, roll it into a small ball. Using a needle press it in to one of the air holes on the battery connector. Don't push it in completely but more or less enough to cover the whole. If later on the draw becomes too tight you can then take it out.

cool antfuzz...will try this too, along with a toothpick....separately, of course! lol

OK...the teflon tape worked...one hole....BUT the vapor is just too cool....makes my juice taste completely different...YUCK!!! Guess these aren't going to work for me as I like a very warm vape! I'll be sticking with my Supreme's until the top coil Phoenix's make their debut! Thanks everyone! Now what to do with these 9 new XL Phoenix's 2.4-2.6 that I'll never use? hummmmm

Perhaps you can find someone who will trade with you. Or you can try the pay forward thread. There are many people who really like the Phoenix.

I have one that I'm using with a fruit juice and it's not too bad, but I do prefer a warmer vape. I tried it on the ego twist at a higher voltage, 4.0 V and I did get a warmer vape, but I'd much rather use the twist with my favorite juice until I can buy a few more.

It's always worth remembering that what works out of the box for one person might not work out of the box for you, it all comes down to personal preference.

I don't feel like my Phoenix 3ml tank has an airy draw or a cool vape. It's not as warm as the vision extremes, but the coil is right near your mouth with top coils like those. The further it has to travel, the cooler it is. Still, I'm enjoying mine but I've seen people on this thread that had to mod theirs to get it where they want it and others who just flat out didn't like them.

I hope the top coils work out better for you and the pay it forward thread is a great option.

Please excuse me for jumping in late in the game. I've been over on the ViVi thred, and finally opened up the Phoenix 3ml Tank that I ordered a while back. I also opened the replacement cartomizers that I ordered and found that they are the 1.5ml and not the 3ml. My mistake when ordering.

Went to the GotVapes site, and I cannot find the 3ml replacement cartomizers. Do they exist? If so, what should I be looking for? (a link would help)

Thanks hd, and yes, I have the XL's (1.5 ml)! I'm using the fatter cone that fits over the newer CE2's...too much airflow!....tried a standard size cone....no air flow! I don't want to spend anymore money on a cone that may or may not work for me!

But this still doesn't help because the drag is cooler, and it's supposed to be warmer! That's why I ordered the 2.4-2.6's!

All in all, I'm not happy....NOT what I expected!

I'm with you MsBree. These don't seem to be for me either. They're a pretty good product, just not working out for me. I wanted to try a bottom coil on my ProVari because I tend to hold it 'down' when vaping and thought it would solve the issue of using a Stardust and having to tilt it up and swirl it to keep the juice wicking.

I have the 2.6-2.8Ω XL's and can't seem to be able to vape at more than 4Volts. It seems to work best at 3.7-3.8volts and then it's way too cool for me also. I thought I could warm it up by raising the voltage, but that's not working for me. At 2.7-2.8Ω I should be able to vape at 4.2Volts but that gives me dry hits, like it can't wick fast enough to keep up at that setting.

On the other hand, my wife is very satisfied with the 3ml Phoenix on her eGo batts.

edit: Please don't think I'm trying to bash the XL's. I'm not. Just trying to point out that for some of us its not working out. Over all I think it's a good product just not for me.

Man, I must be blind. I know I'll feel like an idiot when someone shows me where they are at on the Site. I've been through GotVapes no less than 10 times, and cannot find the 3ml Phoenix Cartomizers. Only the 1.5ml ones.

I also sent a message to GotVapes asking where they are at. No reply yet.
