Quicknicjuice is rich in caramel with a woody, smokey tobacco. It is my favorite juice, but nothing like any of the others. More of a dessert tobacco.

Also, it is fresh made, so needs not less than 10 days steeping. Quicknic flavors are not subtle. They are clean and strong. If you order, use 15off for 15% off. If you get a flavor you don't like from him, look me up. I will give you an offer. I love all the flavors i've tried. Cinnamon Red Hot, French Toast, Watermelon Rancher, Root Beer Float.

There's another RY4 not mentioned which is quite good and that's Nhale-Xhale. It's well-balanced, simply 'bacco, caramel and vanilla. The tobacco is more of ashtray-smoke type for those who like that. I have a fondness for it because that & BWB Bacco got me off cigs and I still vape it occasionally. I did sneak a test of IKV's, which is already great without steeping further, Nhaler's is along the same lines but not as rich or as yummy but very vapable. Worth picking up some if you're ordering from them.

I'm trying to taste IKV's but they're out for now, at least in 24mg.

That's cause I bought em all. Keep an eye out for this because it is the best I've ever had. Just slightly sweet, you can vape it all day long. The 18mg isn't bad but the 24mg is the cats azz.

The HoneyvilleVapor RY4 I purchased for review is all-PG, 24mg nic strength, and light-orange in color. It was tested by dripping into a Joye 1.5 ohm LR atty powered by a Hello 016 battery running at 4.0 volts to produce 10 watts.

HoneyvilleVapor RY4 is a perfectly serviceable entry in the RY4 field. Of course, "serviceable" doesn't get an RY4 very far on this list. The competition is too strong.

One great thing about RY4s is that when they're good, they're often very, very good, and sometimes even superlative, but when they're bad, they're still usually pretty decent. I've found only a couple of RY4s that taste so weird that I can't or won't vape them. Honeyville RY4 is definitely vapable.

The tobacco is foremost here, followed by the caramel, with the vanilla more hinted at than stated. The overall taste is a little sweeter than average. That would be fine if I liked the tobacco, but that's where I run into a problem. I don't know for sure what tobacco base Honeyvville uses, but I'd bet that it's FlavourArt. Many vendors use FA tobacco flavorings, FSUSA being a prominent example. I own many of FlavourArt's extensive line of tobacco concentrates, but they sit unused in my DIY cabinet, since they all share a "signature" FA tobacco side-taste. Unfortunately, that FlavourArt signature was never a taste I liked much, and now, as more vendors use natural tobacco extracts to create wonderful tobacco juices, the synthetic artificiality of FA leaps out at me more strongly (and unpleasantly). Whatever the source, the odd tobacco flavor in HV RY4 is a little hard for me to get past.

I'd like this juice better if the caramel were more prominent, the vanilla richer, and the tobacco more subtle, because "hiding" that second-rate tobacco side-flavor would improve the blend for me. Oh well, that's not my call.

My call is to rate HV RY4 in my Personal Rankings, and the lack of a good tobacco base condemns it to #26, just above Halo Tribeca, another juice with a signature flavor I find less than wonderful.

The other thing to be said about HoneyvilleVapor---this time in praise---is that they've run at least two incredible sales, one when their site began, and another recently, offering 5ml bottles of liquid for 39¢! I bought 40mls of Honeyville's RY4 for about $4 shipped, which is darn near unbelievable. Now if I can only find someone to take it off my hands… (I will, however, keep my 40mls of their Caramel Macchiato---which is wonderful.)

So, in closing, Honeyville is a great vendor with some good liquids, but a not-so-terrific RY4, at least to my picky palate. As always, YMMV.

The Vixen Vapors RY4 sample that was sent to me free for review is a 70/30 PG/VG blend, 24mg nic strength, and deep-orange in color. It was tested by dripping into a Joye 1.5 ohm LR atty powered by a Hello 016 battery running at 4.0 volts to produce 10 watts.

Now that we have 35 RY4s on the Big List, I worry sometimes that we've already reviewed the best RY4s out there, and that my reviews might become more negative as I sample the remainder of less-stellar and more pedestrian RY4s.

I'm pleased to report that I'm quite impressed with Vixen Vapors RY4.

Back when I was testing GoodEJuice RY4, the more I vaped it, the more I wanted to like it. Well, this is better---the more I vaped Vixen Vapors RY4, the more I did like it. Over two days of sporadically vaping VV RY4, I went from "Hmmm, not too bad," to "Not bad at all," to "Pretty good," to "Really Good." In fairness, I never quite reached the "Wowee Zowee!" reaction that goes with the very best RY4s on the list, but---if we're grading on the curve---VV RY4 gets an "A" for quick and impressive improvement.

This is a sweet tobacco juice that leads slightly restrained flavors of caramel and vanilla. Those last two meld together completely, tasting like a single flavor rather than two. VV RY4 is more a dessert tobacco blend than a caramel-vanilla juice with some tobacco mixed in. I don't pick up any other flavors, so it's fairly simple and straightforward.

The surprise surrounds satisfaction. Many sweetened tobacco blends exist. Some I like, others I don't. With VV RY4, I'd take a couple of drags, enough to get the sweet tobacco fix, then put it down, only to find myself reaching for it again a moment later. Something about VV RY4 is very satisfying to me, almost seductively so, much like NLV Bounty Hunter.

If you don't like sweet vapes and are looking for nuttiness or layered complexity, you'll have to go elsewhere, because Vixen Vapors RY4 is definitely sweet, definitely not nutty, and definitely simple.

No, VV RY4 doesn't crack my Top 10 on our list. All the RY4s in the Top 10 are, to my taste, more finely crafted than VV's version. Still, #11 is pretty darn good, especially on a list like this. That relatively high ranking is achieved not by any superlative individual elements (like a brilliant tobacco, succulent caramel, or creamy vanilla). Instead, the high ranking is given because Vixen Vapors RY4 has that mysterious quality of being seductively satisfying.

I guess the vendor's name is appropriate, eh?

In light of three new reviews, it's time again to lay out the revised and updated Big Picture. I've changed the title of the numerical rankings to "Personal Rankings," because that's what they are: my personal rankings. They may or may not work for you as a buyer's guide, depending on how close your taste buds are to mine. If you're unsure about that, I'd advise against using the rankings to make purchasing decisions, because you might end up with a juice that I love but you don't even like, or you could pass on a juice that I don't like but you would love. In general, the Category Groups seem to me a more reliable reference for possible purchases.

Within the Category Groups, I've added one new category and restored another.

The new category is Liqueur. A small number of RY4s seem slightly liqueur-like to me, with subtle flavors reminiscent of brandy or cognac. While not actually alcohol-based, these particular RY4s deliver a bit of that tanginess to my taste buds. Usually but not always quite subtle, that additional flavor sometimes adds to the overall sweetness, but not invariably. For instance, QuickNic RY4 is decidedly sweet with a strong liqueur tang, while BackwoodsBrew RY4 has an ever-so-slight hint of fermented tanginess without being sweet at all.

The restored category is So-So (undistinguished). I brought back that designation because I need a place to put RY4s that are generally OK, but not exceptional or superlative in any particular way. In other words, they're average, ordinary, run-of-the-mill RY4s. Solid citizens, perhaps, but not power brokers or leaders. Now they have their own home in the Category Groups.

The recent discussion in the thread about nuts or no nuts didn't change any of my opinions, but the revelations concerning Ikenvape RY4 Gold's surprising resemblance to DK-TAB did. I think the #1 ranked "best RY4 in the world" (at least in my opinion) should not taste even remotely like one of Dekang's most standard straight tobacco blends, much less substantially so. As a result, Dulcis gets my top spot, while IKV is demoted to 2nd. In addition, PrimeVaping PV4 climbs over Vaperite Organic VR4 to take the #5 spot. VR4 is scrumptious, to be sure, but more atypical than PV4's wonderful balance. At least for now.

Please keep in mind that many RY4s in the bottom half of the list are quite good---much better than their rankings might seem to imply. The top half is studded with wonderful and even amazing juices, and the entire list has only a few real clunkers at the very bottom.

More reviews to come over the next couple weeks, and thanks very much for leaving your own reviews of RY4s, whether already on the list or not.

The more reviewers we have on this thread, the happier I am to be here.

Ludo, the owner of Janty developed the origional RY4, I asume they still sell the same origional RY4, but don't know that for sure.
RY4 was not the origional e-juice.
In the very beginning there was just tobacco, mint, cigar and pipe flavors.
That was about it.
We had to order everything directly from China.
There were no vendors here in America.
I remember ordering from Janty when they shipped from The Netherlands.
I have been vaping for about 3 and a half years now, things sure have changed......

Since this thread is all about RY4 I guess this is the appropriate place to ask this. What happened to the original RY4? Vaping isn't that old so why can't it be recreated? Also was RY4 the original e-juice? Is that why every manufacturer makes their own version?

I like the addition of the Liqueur category. I guess this is where my tastes are at. I definately see how you came up with this label for the full-flavored BWB and QNJ, and I seem to like these more than the Bright/Lively blends. I guess Vixen Vapors may be the next one for me to try.

Keep up the good work.

How often do you revisit the juices on this list? Personally, I have a carto for each of my top 7. I try each at least every third day.

dude,

I've been vaping each of the Top 20 RY4s at least once a week. I drip test for reviews, but I have about 12 dual-coil cartos loaded with RY4s, which get vaped on my VV boxes at about 4.5 volts. Every now and then I atty-drip one or two from the bottom third of the list and am instantly reminded of what I didn't like about them. On the other hand, the Top 10 are always impressive.

It's the middle ten that give me fits. They're often quite tasty, and even better after steeping for a couple weeks, but there are simply no First Class seats left on the plane, so they get relegated to the Tourist sardine section back behind the wing. I feel bad for the RY4s in that group that have to squeeze into a middle seat and don't get either an aisle or a window.

That's particularly vexing when an RY4 like Vixen Vapors' comes along. VV RY4 is pleasing enough to my palate to deserve a Top 10 ranking, but what RY4 do I bump to give it a spot? And how high? That's when I start comparison testing and end up having to reshuffle the list. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and just go back to my daily rotation juice herd, which I would list here, except that none of them are RY4s. You probably know most of them from my posts in other threads. All of them are tobacco blends except Prime Vaping Strawberry. Yum.

Thanks for the info everyone. Makes sense now. I wonder if the chemist will ever bring back the original formula and if he does how will it hold up to the current leaders? Will it be like when I watched some cartoons that I thought were amazing when I was younger but not so good now when compared to more recent entries? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Ludo is not a chemist, he's the owner of the company.

"Janty did. I personally mixed the taste at a liquid manufacturer's premises, way back in 2008. And thus, RY4 became Janty's in house taste.
It's the only taste I personally thought would be appreciated by many people. Last year we launched RY4X, that is Mik's mixture of PG and VG of the same formula".
