I"m just shy of finishing my sampler bottle of Prime vaping PV4. I would say it has a rich creamy caramel taste on top of their natural tobacco with light vanilla thrown in. Their Natural tobacco has that wet leaf flavor to it which I'm not in love with but prefer it to an artificial flavoring base. Maybe that is what your taste buds are red flagging. The caramel was a little much for me to vape it all day but I've enjoyed it, the few weeks I've had it it's been getting dripped on my attys more and more. I ordered a bigger bottle of their Nostalgia and forgot to order more PV4... I threw myself in a mud-puddle then sat in the corner and sulked for a while. Next round I'm gunna pick up some more.

rook2pawn,

Something is definitely amiss with your PV4 experience.

I don't usually ask people to trust me about juices---in fact, I almost always include the "taste is subjective, YMMV" disclaimer in my reviews---but trust me on this one: Prime Vaping's PV4 is a delicious RY4. The caramel is right out front, with tobacco and vanilla following in lovely balance. PV4 isn't "dessert vape" sweet, but the inherent sweetness of the caramel is very pleasing, especially with the vanilla overtones.

What is "band-aid" taste? Rubbery Plastic? I guess a bad batch is always possible, but I can't help but wonder if your CE2 is wicking the juice properly. I get it that you're done testing, though, so contact Jon at Prime Vaping. He's a good guy and one of the many vendors who works hard to please his customers, so I have no doubt that he'll do whatever he can to make you happy.

thanks for the response. so im smoking one more mL of this as Im typing ( i got the big 30ml bottle anticipating i'd love it) .. im detecting 0 caramel, 0 vanilla, 0 deep pipe tobacco smells... im getting a trace of "Warm Beer from Last Night's Party" taste..And definitely this goes along with the Band Aid smell.. as in, when you lift a bandaid from a recovering wound after two weeks and its been in the shower and mildewing a bit on your skin.

Ill ask PV what they can do maybe i can return my bottle and get a different flavor, or i can ask for a new batch of PV4. I really like classic, non-nutty, non-perfumey, PRO-caramel, PRO-vanilla ry4.. Ill post the results here!

thanks again for your interest!! and again on an awesome review thread.

I really like classic, non-nutty, non-perfumey, PRO-caramel, PRO-vanilla ry4.

The good news is that you have many fine choices besides PV4.

From your specs, Organic VR4 from Vaperite ought to be right up your alley. No nuts, no perfume, good vanilla, and the richest, most luscious, melt-in-your-mouth caramel ever! Since you've been burned once, you could get a tobacco sampler (three 3ml bottles) for only $7. That way you could try out VR4 and two more of Todd's natural tobacco extractions without emptying your wallet just to see if you like them.

Tobacco Sampler Pack

For vanilla, you might look outside RY4 territory to Bounty Hunter by NiteLiteVapor. No caramel to speak of, but it's a tobacco wagon pulled by a huge team of sweet Vanilla horses. Not only is Bounty Hunter addictive, but it's only $3.50 for a 10ml bottle (or $10 for 30ml). Comes in PG and VG versions.

https://www.nitelitevapor.us/shop/a...jFGWnaTBCNn3UZxO8&shop_param=cid=5&aid=8.002&

In the same non-RY4 but strong vanilla vein, Vermillion River Kentucky Vanilla Blend is generating some buzz on ECF. I haven't tried it yet, but their flagship Kentucky Premium Blend is in my daily rotation of juices. Vermillion River will send new customers one free 4.5ml sample bottle for just $2 shipping. Enter the coupon code FREESAMPLE at checkout to get the free deal.

4.5 ML Sample Bottle

Good luck!

A lovely thread this and I remian in awe of the write up and descriptions given by the OP in his search to find the ultimate RY4.

I too am now on the hunt for an all vape RY4 (or variant thereof) only my requirements are that it be from the uk. It's perhapes the only slightly disappointing part of this marvellous thread, that many of these wonderful sounding vapes I shall never get to try, especially the top 5 if not more of them.

So began my search closer to home and have to date tried only 4 RY variants.

Paradise vapes uk was my first and (until allowing a good week to steep) was disappointingly flavourless and terribly sutble. After steeping though it began to shine a little more, though always remaining just too shy in flavour for my personal tastes. Perhapes as I was (am) still a new Vaper, still adjusting to from analogues it was prob a mistake to go for a 50/50 mix, I should have stuck with a PG only mix maybe. It's sweet, but not overly. Tobacco is there, but again only just, vanilla I didn't get however, even after 4 weeks+ steeping.

Tried a more 'corporate brand' style of RY4 next, namely totally wicked's Titan fluid RY4. This is very, very sweet, like pure golden syrup and touch of maple syrup about it too perhapes. It smells like cake glazing and is a little sickly for all day. Its nice though and I think would work if mixed with other juices for a DIY RY mix. It has no other classic RY4 tastes to it though and so, really, can't be classed a successful RY4 in the strictest sense.

I also thought I'd try TW's RY3 Titan fluid for pure curiosity. Like butter this one. Subtly sweet, but not like the Titan RY4. There's some vanilla in there but overwhelmingly it's buttery. Lusciously smooth, melted warm butter. It's actually very pleasant. I think this, mixed with the above fluid and a caramel of some description would make a delicious dessert like RY4.

Just today got ivapor's RY4 (considered one of the best around amognst some uk forums I've come across). It needs to steep really before I pass judgement. It's currently to subtle and too see through right now, RY4 shouldn't be this opaque IMO. It's sweet, though not as much as I was expecting. It needs more time.

So, other uk Vapers! What RY4 should I be trying next?

zombitedesade,

Nice handle. Dark side and all that. And thanks for the kind words.

Thanks also for making our little thread here international. Good reviews, too!

Janty is based in Holland and has UK retailers. You might try Ludo's "original" RY4 (my quotes around original aren't meant as sarcasm---it's just that the word "original" gets thrown around a lot in regard to RY4). This past week on the thread has provided some substantial evidence that Ludo did, indeed, invent RY4 and still sells that first generation recipe, regardless of whatever lit up the marketplace later on. Anyway, you might try Janty's RY4---classic, elixir, whatever.

I just googled "Janty UK" and came up with this:

iVapour | Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigs | Janty Stick

They're even having a sale right now on RY4.

Ahh thanks very much for this. I couldn't pass up the chance to try the alleged "original RY4" and so have just put in an order for some of this, hopefully the 'hype' around this near mythical liquid will finally reveal it's much discussed but never really realised in words, qualities.

I have also got some with liberty flights on order too, so at least 2 more RY4 liquid mixes will be up for sumary/review later. I shall also revisit my newest purchase once it's had time to steep a little more.

Not really knowing what the original liquid was like, nor being an experienced enough vapour just yet to truly have appreciated the great stuff makes it a tricky barometer by which to judge the RY4. However I at least know what I'd 'like it to taste like'. For me RY4 makes me think of an effortlessly smooth vape. Luscious sweet + creamy caramel, sutble vanilla overtones, a hint of nut with some rolling tobaccco on the exhale. Other hints it may or maynot (should?)possess: fudge, clotted cream, butterscotch, butter and possibley a sutble chocolate. Hopefully some of my newer purchases will recreate this in full or at least in part.

zombite,

My "working definition" of an RY4 is tobacco, caramel, and vanilla. Without all three of those, I disqualify a liquid as an RY4. Many RY4s contain more flavors than those three, however. Option 1 for me is nuttiness. From that point, it's a free-for-all. Ludo said that he added some other "mystery" ingredients during the creation of the "original" RY4---which you just ordered---and I'd wager that the mythical, lost Dekang RY4 contained mystery ingredients as well. Ikenvape RY4 Gold is supposed to be a loving re-creation of the Dekang formula, but IKV RY4 is very nutty, and at least one poster on this thread who vaped the fabled lost Dekang (and pines for it longingly) swears that it had no nuttiness at all.

Your list of "extra" ingredients is quite rich.

I've never seen clotted cream flavoring. Cream, yes, but clotted cream, no (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just that I haven't seen it offered by the DIY vendors I frequent). As far as I know, clotted cream is heavy cream that has been scalded, which adds to the basic milky creaminess subtle caramel-like and nut-like overtones, so those flavors are pretty much covered anyway.

Fudge and chocolate, however, put you right at the RY4 fences. Even a little too much of either of those and Elvis has left the building. Might be fantastic juice, but not an RY4. At least not in my fiefdom. In your kingdom, maybe so...

PV4 is sooooo similar to VR4 though (I love them both! For me, they are pretty interchangeable). If PV4 tastes like old bandaid to Rook, I imagine the VR4 would too.

Tastebuds are weird things, although for the life of me, I am not sure how they would trick one to think that deliciousness tastes like stale beer and bandaids. LOL

Bill, I'd love to see the Vanilla Caramel Tobacco blend from Velvet Vapors reviewed. I'll be ordering more in about 2 weeks if you'd like I can send you a small bottle to test when I receive it. I'm currently in juice overload right now so we aren't purchasing more till then. I went through 10ml of it a few weeks ago and really loved the blend. It was a pretty sweet though so I'm curious where it falls in your list. This week I get to move over to Kalamazoo Vapor Shop's RY4. I'm waiting to finish up OMFG, its really tasty stuff!

I ordered some Bounty Hunter from NLV myself based on what was said about it here. It has been very helpful having these reviews, I have yet to get a bottle of juice that I don't like. Well excluding my very first order. Lol

Bounty Hunter is great. i still have a 30ml bottle of it and had to resist the urge to order more when i placed my order yesterday. i have been very pleased with all of the flavors i have gotten from them and their prices are hard to beat. im vaping Gold Rush right now as i type this.

i have a feeling i will feel the same about PrimeVaping as well from the reviews ive read on here. i cant wait till my order arrives!

Just got in my Honeyville Vapor order, loaded up the RY4 first.

It's a perfectly acceptable RY4, it reminds me of something NiteLiteVapor would carry, I like it.
It has a slightly harsh hit, which is not a criticism, that comment is saying that it reminds me of an actual analog hit, and reminds me of NLV's Gold Rush in a way, but not directly.

I consider NLV's Gold Rush as sort of the working man's tobacco vape, some of the higher caliber RY4's are so refined as to not really remind me of an actual analog too much anymore, but some of the NLV catalog hits me square in the workingman ribcage, and this RY4 hits me right there too.

Primarily caramel flavor up first, but not heavy sweet caramel like PV4, then the nutty flavor, then a slight taste of vanilla last.

Not super-refined top 10 (which it doesn't have to be to please me) not bottom-feeder vape, not a 'strange' or 'odd' vape, I would place it dead square in the middle (perfectly acceptable) level of Bills' list.

I'm enjoying it right now right out of the bottle just delivered, if it gets better by steeping, so much the better.
No chemical odors, nothing negative to say, a good solid RY4 vape for me, I would be perfectly content with a 30ml of this.:)

Edited to add: 50/50 mix, 12mg.

Edited again to add:

I've now vaped 2 cartos of this, and there 'is' some other flavor in there besides the tobacco, caramel, nut, and vanilla, but it's a very small component, maybe nothing other than the particular kind of caramel or nut they used, but I can't pinpoint what it is.
Whatever it is, I think it helps make this RY4 stand out a little bit. Not a lot, a little.
I'm still enjoying it a lot and very well may order some more of this one day.
Since over 3 hundred gazillion people have ordered from Honeyville on the 4th sale, and the orders are now coming in, maybe someone else can I.D. the additional flavor in there.
Tasty stuff tho for an RY4, really liking it for a middle-of-the-pack, 'Solid Average Joe' RY4 contender.

The RY4 sample that Bloog sent me free for review is a PG-based liquid (under ingredients, the label states: Propylene Glycol Glycerine), 24mg nic strength, and medium-gold in color. It was tested by dripping into a Joye 1.5 ohm LR atty powered by a Madvapes VV box running at 4.0 volts to produce 10 watts.

Web site description: "Bloog Liquid Fusion Juice in RY4 Flavor provides a complex tobacco flavor with just a hint of caramel that makes for a great vaping experience."

I was somewhat anxious about reviewing Bloog's pre-mix RY4. Many posters on ECF sing the praises of this juice, especially in Bloog's Fusion and MaxxFusion 808-d pre-filled cartos, but I wondered if Bloog users in the majority might be newer vapers without much comparative experience in tasting other RY4s. My concerns proved unfounded. Whether Bloog RY4 fans are experienced users or first-time vapers, I wholeheartedly agree that this is a very tasty RY4.

Vapor production is fine for what is apparently an all-PG juice, and throat hit at 24mg is strong and powerful.

As for flavor, I wouldn't call Bloog RY4 a "tobacco blend." The tobacco doesn't lead in this juice, so those who prefer a tobacco-dominant RY4 should probably look elsewhere. Instead, the three classic flavors of RY4---tobacco, caramel, and vanilla---are present in what seem to me equal proportions. Bloog's own description states "a hint" of caramel, with no mention at all of vanilla, but that's not my experience. Caramel and tobacco greet the inhale, with vanilla coming up to linger on the exhale. The tobacco element strikes me as a classic Chinese approximation (Dekang maybe?), unlike RY4s made with either tobacco absolute or natural tobacco extract. That's not a criticism, however. Bloog RY4 doesn't attempt to replicate the experience of analog tobacco smoking, but rather to improve on it. Some Chinese synthetic tobaccos do that very well, with Bloog RY4's complex tobacco flavor being a sterling example.

My taste buds tell me that the juice contains some extra ingredients, but what they are is not easy for me to define. Nuttiness? Maybe, but perhaps something sweeter than nuts, such as cotton candy or marshmallow. I can't tell for sure. What I'm certain of is that the mix rides on the three basic elements, with the additional flavors serving to sweeten, round out, and unify the whole.

All three basic ingredients qualify as rich, leaving me a bit perplexed as to where to put Bloog RY4 in the Category Groups. It is obviously Deep rather than Bright, anchored by solid and substantial bass tones. In addition, Bloog RY4 might qualify as either Caramel-Rich or Vanilla-Rich, but overall I feel on firmer ground to list it under the Balanced and Dessert groups, since an encompassing sweetness is present throughout, but soft and enveloping rather than sharp and piercing.

OK, so where do I rank Bloog RY4? Higher than I would have expected. This is a very satisfying RY4 that lands at #5 in my Personal Rankings, just below the original Janty RY4 and just above Prime Vaping PV4.

I'm surprised, pleased, and impressed.

I'm guessing you haven't received a sample from SI yet?

Smokeless Image begged off sending me a sample. Their reason was that they were considering changing suppliers and were (to paraphrase) in limbo. So, no review is upcoming on their RY4.

I spoke (wrote) too soon. Just got a PM from someone at Smokeless Image saying that they had resolved the questions with their supplier and would mail me a 10ml bottle of their RY4 for review.

If the SI RY4 tastes exactly the same to me as the Bloog RY4, I probably won't review it separately, but instead amend the Bloog review to note the siamese twin kinship. If it tastes different, though, I'll review it. Fair enough?
