I know I'm the guy that brings a 6 pack to a wine tasting but...with all the 4's I've tried I always go back to Mr. E's RY-4

Mr E's and Mr vape are pretty much the standard IMO, they are so delicious. Only my frankenjuiced ECBlend RY-4 and HHV Heavenly tobacco mix trumps those two liquids.

I always carry 15ml or so of my favorite frankenjuice but this week, I had not dipped into it. So today I loaded some Mr E's in the morning and it ran out by noon. Loaded the frankenjuice and it was just so good today, tasted like the first time I concocted it. I think I put about 65% ECBlend in this past time, maybe I discovered the right blend at last! :thumb:

I was looking into buying the Ikenvape RY4 but you can only get it either 80/20 or 20/80. My question is if I bought one of each and just mixed 100% of both bottles together would that be a 50/50 blend and would it screw the flavor up. Pretty sure it is a 50/50 blend if I do that I am just concerned that I will destroy the way it is supposed to taste.

Thanks.

Don't worry. Doing what you propose---creating a 50/50 IKV RY4 by a 1:1 mix of 80/20 with 20/80---will not harm anything.

I've had both base blends of IKV RY4. That was a long time ago, but my recollection is that, while they used the same flavor profile (meaning the same flavorings in the same recipe), the two versions did taste slightly different, exactly as one would expect from the opposite bases---80PG was a tiny bit more flavorful with slightly thinner "mouthfeel," while the 80VG produced thicker vapor and fuller mouthfeel with a tad less flavor. I did the same thing you're considering by combining both bottles. No difference worth noting, except that I was happier with the 50/50 than either of the others.

I have run out of several of my favorite RY4s this week. Others have not been "hitting the spot." So I dug through my box of juices and pulled two RY4s that are new to me. FreedomSmokeUSA RY4 and The Vapor Room Ginger's RY4.

I know these have been around for a long time. FSUSA's RY4 was reviewed (very briefly) in this thread's first post. I have 120mls of it, so I might as well give it a shot. It is a very dark liquid. Like a strong espresso, it could stain a brown shirt. The flavor is unique in RY4land. It is a caramel heavy tobacco in inhale, but the exhale tastes like it is filtered through a dirty sock. There is a musty flavor that (although I compared it to worn footwear) is not entirely unpleasant. I think they were going for a smoke flavor. They failed, and the result is disturbingly quirky. Maybe it is a hint of anise. Whatever the "off" exhale flavor is, FSUSA would be better without it. Overall I think Bill was a bit harsh with his D+ grade, but maybe he just doesn't like the flavor of dirty socks.

The Vapor Room Ginger's RY4 is very close to a classic RY4. It reminds me of Health Cabin's RY4 with a tobacco boost. The flavor is very light (which is why most people order 125% flavor from The Vapor Room). There is more of a sweetness than a caramel and a vanilla. Most of the flavor is found on the exhale. In fact, all the flavor is found on the exhale. The caramel vanilla blend compliments the stronger tobacco flavor. When I say stronger tobacco, I don't mean NET strong. I mean that compared to Dekang or Health Cabin, Ginger's is related, but stronger. The tobacco still has that metallic flavor rather than the grit of a good tobacco vape. Ginger's RY4 is pleasant. I don't fault Bill in giving it an average grade, but I find it better than either Health Cabin or DK-4. Not as good as other classics such as Apollo, Volt, or Butterfly's which are each so clean and bright and yummy. TVR Ginger's RY4 is a nice, but not outstanding RY4.

I can't see that anyone will claim either of these two RY4s as their favorite e-liquid. I will continue to vape both, because neither is nasty and I am enjoying the change of pace.

Hi all you RY4 lovers :vapor:...So some good news for those who like Mountain Oak Vapors Classic Country RY4. if you guys recall my hate then love then addiction then back to hate for this juice, for some reason it changed on me or maybe it was just my taste buds, well anyways still on my quest I ran into a tobacco where you can clone the stuff :D and it taste like the very first time I had it pine sol and all:facepalm:...so I will share since I have promised and promised and promised RY4 Dream which is still in the works like always......so here is 97% Mountain Oak Vapors Classic Country RY4 clone

Sphynx Tobacco by Inawera ( I used 1 drop for 3ml but 1 drop for 6ml would do it....PINE SOL HEAVEN) Could this be what they use? I am not sure but gosh its spot on and even can be used for the other synthetic tobaccos they have like Gold (honey tobacco) which I think is gone now.

Caramel ( I used Hangsen, I would advise to use a different caramel and nothing to candy like, that's why its a 97% clone not 99%)

Vanilla (I used Vanilla Frosting from One on One flavoring, im thinking any vanilla would do I just love that stuff..)

...and if anyone tries it tell me what you think.....Enjoy my RY4 friends....

For those wanting to try Smokeless Image's Volt RY4, it is now 30% off with code "BUNNY". That makes it under $10 /30ml plus shipping of about $3.
Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

13 bucks shipped for a 30ml bottle of one of the best Classic RY4s ever made. Now, that's a good deal! If I didn't have a full 30ml bottle of SI Volt RY4 in my stash, I'd jump all over this one.

I think with a couple bottles of Volt and a big bottle of Butterfly's and I will be set for the summer. Both are great classic RY4s.

Wow, Thanks Billherbst
I have plenty of both variations, so mixing a batch will not be a lost if I don't like the blend. I'm going to give it a try and see how the combination taste. I agree the PG has more flavor which I tend to prefer but I'm really trying if I can towards more VG. I'm always coming on here for your updates/advice on RY4's.

Specs: The 30ml of RailwaY4 that I purchased from StratoMyst comes in a clear glass bottle with a glass dropper cap. The liquid is a pale peach colored transparency at 18 mg nic in a 50/50 PG/VG base blend. The nose is very slight but pleasantly bakery-like. Since the juice may have been custom made to order (I’m not sure), I gave it four days to steep. With three days for shipping, that would make a custom-mixed juice about a week old at this point. More steeping may be required, so if anything changes, I'll append my review later. Testing was done in typical fashion for me, by atty-dripping into a 2.3 ohm JoyeTech standard 510 atty powered by a VAMO v2 set to 9.0 watts RMS.

While the low end of the retail juice marketplace continues to be well-served by deep discount vendors such as Mt.BakerVapor and ECBlends, the real news in the juice marketplace over the past year has been the explosion of high-end (and usually high-priced) artisan juice labels. Sometimes these custom-designed upper-crust eliquid lines don’t even have their own web sites. Instead, they’re marketed online only through boutique juice clearinghouse sites that act like the vaping equivalent of a Rodeo Drive Abercrombie & Fitch. StratoMyst isn’t quite so exclusive, since it does have its own vendor site, as well as a brick-and-mortar retail store in Springfield, Oregon. In addition, the prices are reasonable ($4 for 10mls, $8 for 15mls, and $15 for 30mls). Somehow, though, I still consider StratoMyst as part of the boutique juice movement.

StratoMyst’s site uses a railroad train motif. Their description from the RailwaY4 product page states:

“StratoMyst’s take on RY4. A smooth tobacco flavor with a caramel base. Lightly sweet, with a slight nutty taste.”

RailwaY4 is an strange bird. Clearly intended as a Custom RY4, it stretches the RY4 flavor profile almost past the breaking point. The Custom RY4 genre allow for this “creative” stretching of RY4 flavors, but here it’s taken right to the edge, and maybe even over the cliff. In my order with StratoMyst during a recent 2-for-1 sale, I also got a bottle of their Flakey Cake, which is a dessert juice that emulates white cake with vanilla icing and sprinkled with almond slivers and coconut. It’s a terrific dessert vape, and I like it a lot. Curiously, RailwaY4 is almost closer in flavor to Flakey Cake than to any of the 160 RY4s I’ve vaped. In fact, RailwaY4 doesn’t really taste like an RY4 at all. The thing is, it’s tangy, and RY4s are not tangy. The one exception I can think of is ECBlend Spicy RY4, which adds a spicy kick to a good RY4 base. With RailwaY4, however, the tanginess is right at the heart of a whole bunch of intense flavors that don’t end up tasting remotely like RY4 to me. The "Smooth tobacco" of the description is completely absent to my palate. RY4 should be the vaping equivalent of comfort food---familiar, non-demanding, and laid-back. RailwaY4 is provocatively tasty, but not laid back in the least.

If I were grading RailwaY4 as an unusual dessert-style juice blend, I’d give it a B for its ballsiness and in-your-face flavor intensity. On that basis I can easily recommend it. I can see vaping this liquid when I’m in the mood for a dessert juice that will knock my socks off. As an eccentric flavor treat, it’s pretty good.

As an RY4, however, I have no choice but to give it a D+ grade. RailwaY4 doesn’t seem to have a clue what the RY4 flavor profile is. Most lousy RY4 are just bad juices, period. RailwaY4 is the exception: a good juice that's a bad RY4.

Buy RailwaY4 if you want a really intensely flavored, unusual, but interesting juice. If you're looking for an RY4, however, skip it.

I ordered from two very different vendors this weekend, Butterflys and Smokeless Image. Both have very good RY4s which were on sale.

From Smokeless Image I ordered two 30ml bottles for $22.60 shipped. That is 38 cents per ml, a very good price. I ordered Saturday, and I received it Monday.

From Butterflys I ordered two 60ml bottles for $29.00 shipped. That is 24 cents per ml, a great price. I ordered Saturday, and will be lucky if I get it by mid May. The last time I ordered from Butterflys, it took three weeks for them to ship.

This brings back memories of Ozark Mountains. Why does it take some vendors so long to mix and ship ejuice? I think Ms T's Bakery was having this same issue.

Well at least I now have some good Volt RY4, and I can send the FreedomSmokeUSA bottle (all 120mls) off to Bill for a newer review.

Maybe the best thing about stocking up on some of these "premium" RY4s is the variety of the flavors. Daily I go to Mr Vape and then my frankenjuiced EC Blend RY4/HHV Heavenly Tobacco but I go back to the well a few times per week to test old flavors.

Hangsen really gets better over time and I like that as a change of pace. Indigo Classic is just phenomenal, I hadn't touched it in a month and ended up vaping it all day on Sunday because it was so tasty. I'm running low on Mr E and really need to get a big bottle of that stuff, but they offer a 30ml and then the next step up is the 120ml. Damn.

I think I'll wait on placing a big order until I see a sale of 20% or better. This month my RY4 shopping has taken me to CrystalELiquid, gonna give them a try.

I ordered from Butterfly's two weeks ago today during the only 35% off sale :(. I hate when I order then they announce a better sale a few days later! Oh well, no biggie...

Anyway, I got a little concerned about my order. My last two orders from Butterfly took only 4 days from order to shipping. 1 week after I placed the order it was still "awaiting fulfillment". I sent an email and the next day (last Wednesday) it was suddenly "awaiting shipment". No reply to my email, however. Checked yesterday, still "awaiting shipment". ???? Can't someone get to the post office? So another email (no reply) but today my order shipped.

Now I am NOT!!!! knocking Butterfly's!!! No way! I understand they are moving and having 2 sales I am sure they are busy. I am normally used to orders taking several days (or more) before shipping. My main concern was the 1 week in "awaiting shipment". All is well now. I have a tracking number and am looking forward to my restock of Butterfly's RY4.

I am enjoying the Vapor's Knoll RY4. I did order extra flavor since I ordered 30/70 pg/vg. I get what Bill said that the extra flavor might throw off the overall experience. I took some and diluted it with a few drops of nic and pg/vg and it really made a difference. Whole bottle is now diluted to what I imagine would be closer to "regular" flavoring and I still have 10 ml after vaping a few tanks :).

Have some Smokecignals RY4 I got during a sale the other day. Ordered 4/18, no shipping email. It was in my mailbox yesterday (4/20). I have not opened it or tried it yet; I have no idea what to expect. But I like to experiment, so I will post when I take the plunge.

And I always have my big bottle of Mr Vape. I order higher VG (30/70) and Cameron is great about balancing the flavor to my liking.

Although I have been on an Ahlusion kick the last few months, my RY4s are my evening "chill" vape :vapor:

Can someone link me to the Hangsen RY4 review? I'm thinking about ordering some from Slowtech. Thanks!

Here are the links to the older Hangsen RY4 reviews:

Liberty-Flights Hangsen RY1-4 - posts #754, #758, #3895 (osmo), #3628

Hangsen RY4 has proven itself to me over time. It isn't the most amazing RY4 I've ever vaped, but it's solid and dependable, right down the middle of the Classic RY4 mold.

If you DIY, I strongly recommend Hangsen's RY4 flavoring, which is available from ecigexpress. They also carry HS RY1, 2, and 3 flavorings:

Hangsen Essence RY1 flavoring concentrate (from EcigExpress; also from VapingZone)
Hangsen Essence RY2 flavoring concentrate (from EcigExpress; also from VapingZone)
Hangsen Essence RY3 flavoring concentrate (from EcigExpress; also from VapingZone)
Hangsen Essence RY4 flavoring concentrate - post #3715 (from EcigExpress; also from VapingZone)
