After spending the day with Vapor Pro RY4 I tried to be postive but now I am so grossed out by it, I hate it, it sucks, the smell of it just turns my stomach...also while I am on the subject they charged $11.00 for a 30ml thats cool and all but they must think people are stupid because the shipping was $7.95 it did come in a small priority box but the label looks like its bulk so if I am not mistaken they get a discount in shipping. that is the lamest thing to do is try to make up money on shipping cost...I am still not mad at The Vapor Pro but they do not know how to make a RY4 and with that shipping price I hope their business goes broke but if the RY4 was good then I may let that slide but didnt happen and if they did not check the reviews before posting on thier site I would run them into the ground where they belong.....

may the RY4 Gods be ever in your favor....:D

Hello all,

Has anybody bought any PV4 lately? I bought a 30ml on Oct and it has been steeping since. I normally don let a bottle sit that long becuase I am super impatient lol. Anyway the reason it has been steeping is it has a tremendously strange smell to it. I tend to like my tobaccos to be a bi on the sweet side and pulled the trigger on this stuff. I let it sit for about a week after I got it and dripped into a new atty. The smell came across in the flavor instantly. It's almost a plastic type of smell. Wish I could say it tasted like plastic but I havnt had any to eat lately. Just wondering if anybody that has been a fan of this juice can chime in on this let me know if they've noticed a change in recipe or this has always been the norm for it. Thanks!

Springfield, I have not bought any lately. I have a 30ml bottle that I purchased last summer and it does not have a plastic smell or taste.

Ditto here. I haven't bought any PrimeVaping PV4 for a long, long, time---my 30ml bottle was purchased in June 2011 and is still 2/3 full---but it never smelled funky and still doesn't. I'd be very suspicious if I got a bottle where the juice smelled bad.

By the way, I presume that springfieldarms is talking about PrimeVaping PV4 rather than ParkesVaping PV4.

Well, it looks like my review of Totally Wicked Patriot Range Ruyan 4/RY4 will be delayed.

I ordered a 30ml bottle from TW on December 5th, received the package on Dec 9th, and immediately put it away to steep a bit. This evening I retrieved the bottle to fill a carto and give it a go, and I noticed that nowhere on the Totally Wicked label did it say "Ruyan 4" or "RY4." What was printed at the top of the label was "Pillbox 38." Memory suggested vaguely that this was the handle of either an owner of TW or their juicemaker, but I didn't know why it was printed prominently on the label.

So, I went to the TW site and looked it up. Turns out that one of their Patriot Range juices is named Pillbox 38: Mad Dog, which is a peppery tobacco. Ah! Mystery solved. TW sent me the wrong juice! Both my receipt and email confirmation specify Ruyan 4/RY4, but that's not what they sent me. No big deal---we're all fallible and make mistakes---but somehow it's a little shocking to get sent the wrong juice.

I've emailed TW about the mistake. I hope they don't need me to send the wrong bottle back to them and will just eat their error and send me a bottle of Ruyan 4/RY4. At any rate, it'll be awhile before I can review it.

A quick update for the PV4. Looks like Donna from primevaping saw my post about the strange smell. I woke up to an email from her this morning and I just had to say. Excellent customer service! I will post back when we get this corrected but I had to make sure I let everyone know they jumped right on it. There is no doubt in my mind I will be a return customer with the way they are handling an order from just some small time everyday joe as myself.

What do you know? Turns out that Totally Wicked sent me the right juice after all! On the bottom of the bottle was a tiny little sticker that read: RY4 18mg. Why that sticker was on the bottom rather than affixed to the label on the side of the bottle, I don’t know, but that’s where it was. I'm not upset about it, and I do feel a little foolish for not looking there before emailing Totally Wicked with the erroneous assumption that they sent me the wrong juice. But all's well that ends well. So, let's get right to the review:

Specs: The 30ml bottle of RY4 I purchased from TotallyWicked is from their Patriot Range of made-in-USA juices. The liquid’s color is a very pale yellowish transparency at 18mg nic in an unspecified base blend that feels like 70/30. Testing was done using a 3.0 ohm Smoktech carto (it was a 1.5 ohm dual coil, but I snipped one of the coil leads) on a variable-power Vamo set to 9.0 watts.

I don’t know if the ingredients for this RY4 are from the USA, or if the juice is just made in the U.S. with Chinese source ingredients, but everything about it screams "Chinese RY4." From the color, through the way it vapes, to the flavor profile, this is a Classic Chinese RY4 all the way. It’s bright and well-blended, with no single flavor element standing out. Interestingly, TW Patriot RY4 has the Dekang flavor profile, but with some of the Janty sweet-sour counterbalance. Like most classic RY4s, it has no nuttiness at all. To me, this tastes like the traditional core flavors of RY4: tobacco, caramel, and vanilla, with nothing else added to distract from that mix.

I have to admit that expected this juice to be sweeter, having somehow formed that impression from passerbyeus’ posts (it’s one of passer’s favorite RY4s and pretty much the reason I bought it for review…). And yes, of course, there is some sweetness. This is, after all, an RY4, so it’s a sweet juice by definition. But it’s not overly sweet, nor even especially sweet, at least to my palate. I wouldn’t consider it anywhere close to a dessert-type RY4. That goes with its strongly Chinese lineage.

What do I think of it? As a classic RY4, it’s dynamite! If that’s your taste, then by all means get some of this. On the other hand, if you love custom RY4s, with their more distinct and often jacked-up flavors, forget it. This juice is classic RY4 all the way, and very good at it. I’d go so far as to say that Totally Wicked Patriot Range RY4 gives Janty and Dekang a run for their money as one of the best classic RY4s ever made. (Not that it’s better than the best of the custom RY4s---it’s just different.

I really don’t have any criticisms of this juice. If I were inclined to be especially nit-picky, I’d say that it’s not one of the more complex RY4s I’ve ever vaped. No multiple layers of flavor or uniquely creative juxtapositions. But that’s OK, since RY4s aren't and don't need to be inherently complex or overly-subtle juices. I'm also curious as to how this RY4 would change with a little nuttiness added---one never knows how altered juices will turn out---but I've got 30mls, so I can do that Frankenjuice experiment on my own. No problem. Plus, it's perfectly delicious as it is now.

I’m notoriously long-winded in my reviews, but I think I've written enough for this one: If you love RY4s, do yourself a favor and buy a bottle.

:vapor::D:toast: It is a great one, as for the sweetness no its not that sweet and compaired to Jammin, Jammin was sweeter thats why I liked to mix the two to get a middle Road, but I did get one into that is like TW but sweeter and holding off for the review for someone else, its been a great month for RY4s.

Hey GZ on the 250k wow! Anyway I just got some of the TW RY4 and found this thread in a search. It tastes OK, but to me it has Very little flavor? I'm using a mini vivi nova with 2.4 ohm coil on a 3.7 mech mod (tw odyssey acctually). Would it have more flavor with the 2.8ohm coil or 1.8ohm coil? I heard so much about the RY4s it's been kind of a let down really. Maybe it needs to steep?

Anybody in here use gennys for their atty of choice. Just curious

Not so far. Up until now, I managed to deftly sidestep that whole down-the-rabbit-hole-with-rebuildable-atomizers adventure. I already have an army of PVs on my desk, and 300 more cartos/tanks/clearos in the stash. I also dived headlong into DIY World and have paid that price (literally and figuratively). RBAs are another one. I'd end up with 17 kinds of wicking material, 7 gauges of Kanthal wire, an industrial-sized blow torch for oxidizing stainless steel wicks, yada yada.

I'm probably toast, though. I have a cheap DiD clone coming from VaporBreak.
