R41... Such a beautiful vape! Such a pain in the .... to wrap!

Flavors come through crisp and clean. Vapor is thick, moreso than sub-ohm 26ga.

My typical nichrome build was about .6-.8. With R41, i am sticking .9-1.1 and it is incredible!

I have a 20wrap 2ohm build ready to go in my vv grand this evening.

Here are some of my R41 builds so far:

.9 ohm

1.2ohm on my 14500 mini

.9ohm

1ohm twisted dual coil

And then there was this one

R41 ~.7ohm

Top coil is 16ga id 10 wrap, bottom is 17ga id 14 wrap. Both coils metered out at approx 1.2x ohm

Took off the top coil in rather quick succession. The TH was well beyond what I enjoy. The twisted coil proved to be a far better vape.

So, I vaped my .4+ through the course of the day and had neither sore throat issues, nor that weird "tang" I mentioned yesterday.

I am frustrated tho, cause the gauge of it just doesn't suit the vape I've come to love. The dual coil was just too much stuff in the atty. (air flow, heat-up time, etc.)
Gary, from Jacobs, basically said "no" on offering other gauges. He said he'd have to invest about $12,000, and he's not thinking that's a good idea.

I'll be brainstorming on "resistance altering magic" . .. .

Yeah. I feel you. For me, the 9 wrap is near perfect. I don't have much desire to change it.

Found the perfect coil for the vv. 13 wrap on a 5/64 bit ~1.6ohm. Near instant heat, vape of a sub-ohm, and is sizzling my diy apple-baccy like a champ!

HAH! fun stuff, man! I'm happy for you, tho. The fact that the gauge is suitable for you. I was also thinking of twisting some junk together for magic ohmage. I remember, tho, when Stats was doing DGDC, it seemed to net 1/2 the res. of the thicker gauge.

BTW nice collection you just posted in the pics thread.

Sometimes Turbaloy41 welding wire shows up on ebay, but not often as it is used to weld jet turbine components.
I think it is Rene41 also.

you should try my twisted death coil minus a couple wraps. The one I posted previously metered at 1ohm. drop that to about an 8-wrap and it should be magical for your typical setup.

I bought 25' of it. Sent a couple feet off to Jeremy E today. Still have a good bit to play with.

Once the coil is made, it is MADE! I can actually yank a coil and set it aside intact for re-use (though I have only kept a couple). I think I am in love with this stuff. Will likely just PIF with my old kanthal and nichrome and order a big spool of this stuff. I don't think I will ever find better (unless kate beckinsale hand delivered my next roll)

I had to make some Aircraft Engine Parts once out of Rene 41. Very Tight Tolerance Stuff. And the job was Horrible Underbid. Good God we used a lot of Cutter on that Job. A Complete Loser from he Get Go.

If I live to be 80, I could go Without hearing Rene 41 again.

Well, if Stat, Pdib, Xobe and Super_X are all in on this, it must be somewhat alright. I'll try a small order, see where I end up on the nickel sensitivity. 27g is perfect for me, I like my coils about .8 so it looks promising. I'll report back with coil pics and results.
