It seems there are actually very few things in this world that you can grind into a fine particulate or heat to the point of fumes rising and then proceed to inhale it on a daily basis which don't cause the body some harm. I won't be doing either of those with my wire.

Pfft... I grind my wire and use it to garnish my steak... I'm a MAN!

Agree but I'm not using nichrome either, for the same reason, just not that brave

Well then you shouldn't use Kanthal either. So what you should use is.....uh what else is there? Plenty of other res wires that aren't popular in the vape world but you think they are any safer?

If you want to be 100% safe & healthy, you shouldn't be vaping at all. Even the fumes from dry burning is not good for you. There are many things that are not good for the health that people are exposed to on a daily basis without even knowing it. Won't kill you in the next 10 years though. Don't inhale anything except air, go to the gym, eat plenty of fruit, don't come to LA (too smoggy), drive an electric car, don't go out in the sun, etc. Just saying.... ;)

That MSDS would more likely be required to be posted for the employees working at the related manufacturing plant and/or product manufacturers using those materials. Most of it are warnings related to dust particles from grinding or fumes from a molten state, none of which applied to vaping.

pretty much once you bend it, that is where it stays. Also, if you mount it and it has uneven pressure pulling on the legs and you dry fire it, it can self-mangle itself (hard to explain). It certainly has a learning curve.

It seems like it is a one shot deal, stays put! I tried vaper divers over wrap and then pull to even out the starter coil and it just wouldn't go. I have tried a bunch of heat and squeeze methods once it is mounted, which Is great with ni or k, but seems to do almost nothing with Rene unless you drop some water on with while still squeezing it. Twisted? Fagettaboutit. Your first wrap is your wrap. I also had to wrap on a smaller mandrel to get a real 1/16 I.d. with the twisted wire, it sprang to about 3/32 I.d. No matter how tight I wrapped it. Worth it? Yeah.

Yeah, when I tried the twisted wire coil XOxo showed me, it worked fine; but I had some technique by then. Torch twist, torch again (heavily) and wrap. Wrap just right! After that, I had the last wrap a bit gappy, and nothing could I do to re-seat it. I think, like with most metals, you have to bend it a bit further than where you want it, and it springs back some. Meaning, you can't glow-pinch tighten the coils, cause you're not moving it past the point where you want it to end up.

here's the last wrap I meant, the right end

here's the previous try, before I realized how focused you have to be to get them close/touching on the first shot. Nothing would bring them closer (it seemed)

Rene came today.
She is certainly feisty!
Got a lot of spring to her.
Seems the more I squeezed her the more she wanted to rebel.
I finally got her into submission and she is sitting on a cotton pillow now.
She does taste different than Nicky or Kathy.
Still trying to figure out the difference.

.9 ohm rolled on 1.5mm form

Got her really hot and pinched her end.
She will lay flat but till I figure out how to roll her while she is hot I don't know how brittle she will be.

Debut of first Rene41 ribbon (albeit very short) .55mm X .15mm

so how are you flattening it (the little sample), Mundy?

Just heated with torch till red hot and squeezed with channel locks.
Course that was just to see if it was possible under heat.

Think I have a solution figured out but it will require some fabrication and my brother in law has my welder right now working on his race car.
Think I will borrow his plasma cutter when I pick up my welder.
