HI Karen.

I will go to the grocery store here today but this is a small town so it shouldn't be too bad, and the only reason that I'm going to today is because it's senior discount day. I actually have to take some people but I'll be getting some stuff too.

Hey I'm old and I may as well take advantage of it!!!

The IV is the part that I hate the most. From what I hear, a lot of people feel the same way. It hurts when they go digging and hunting.

Glad to hear she is joking!! and soon she will probably be feeling a little loopy.

I've always had "idiot proof" veins, thankfully, so all kinds of needles have been easy for me and person hitting my veins. But I know plenty of people who aren't so fortunate. A good friend is not only obese but has infantile veins. I've watched experienced techs and nurses try to hit her veins for 30 minutes on several occasions. I really feel for people who have issues like that.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

I couldn't go shopping for the guys here till today. We hit the store around 8:30. Most things were stocked. But there were only a couple tubs of Smart Balance margarine and two off brand tubs. I only buy butter for me but had to pick up something for the guys. There was a couple standing there for about 5 minutes mulling over something.

Got to the checkouts and they really needed more open. And also more baggers!

Glad we went early. I have a feeling they will be hit hard all day today.

Our Costco has double giant tubs in big fridge section. I started to get some last visit but way too much for the two of us. We are almost out. Guess we'll use more butter if store is out. (Next few days are going to be unhealthy eating, for the most part, anyway.)

Hugs, Feisty Alice

She had Dr.Randall. His is very good. He does this all day. She should go into surgery in about 30 min. In recovery 2 hours later for an hour more. Then a room.

I know it is tough to be on your side of this too Dan. Make sure you grab something to eat and drink. Don't leave your REO sitting and dart into a bathroom! You don't need a missing REO!

I have been on "her" side of things many times. Just know that they will keep her knowing very little of what happens. Even after coming into recovery it will be bits and pieces that she knows.

Hoping for the best in her procedure and full recovery!

You take care of yourself sweetie! Eat, rest, and I know you will be there for her when she needs you the most!

And that is me. They get two tries and then I tell them to go get someone better at it.
I love a nurse in a hospital around here, she would get it first time every time. If I have/had to have blood test done, I schedule when she's on duty and tell them it's her or nobody.

And it does hurt...big time!

I picked up stuff that I needed today too. Usually it is just enough to get me through the week. Today it was what I needed to do my cooking for tomorrow too! Had to remember what they needed as usual week shopping and their meal tomorrow also. I think I did fine!

The tough part was standing in the parking lot figuring out what came here and what went to my house! I live right close on the way back to their house so stop and drop off my stuff. Had to carry in bags and put stuff in the fridge. Hope I didn't leave anything out!

Can't wait till tomorrow is over and done! Have not been home since Monday and need my days off!

I found some little storage jars, with wire close tops, I had forgotten about, still in box from Crate and Barrel. Perfect for storing and serving the cranberry sauces in meal size portions. They look so cool in my fridge. (I ordered them to put "faux foie gras" = chicken/pork liver pate for storage and serving.) I, also, found some reusable plastic container covers, with elastic around the edge, I had way back in a cabinet. This a.m when I took the sticking saran wrap off to stir the sauces it wouldn't cling back and new pieces wouldn't stick to the cold pyrex bowls. This T-day is turning into Christmas.

Which reminds me.... I need to thaw the chicken livers.

Last time I was at hospital with friend for surgery nurses and techs tried for 30 minutes. Most doctors hardly ever start IVs. They got so frustrated they grabbed the surgeon to do it. He lucked out on first try. It was luck for sure and he admitted it. It was fun to watch a nurse boss a doc around, though. He even laughed about it. Friend is so stoic!!!! And she wouldn't admit it to anyone but me that all of the pokes hurt so much. Having "idiot proof" veins makes the pokes really only a "stick" as they like to say. And yes, I am always thankful!! I did two small cuts on inside of two fingers cutting up something the other night. Knife almost as sharp as razor. (I love sharpening knives.) They hurt more than any "stick" I've ever had.

{edit} Jen, the cuts aren't big enough to count towards cook/chef trophy scars.

Thanks Karen and Alice. She is almost done with the surgery. She should be in the recovery room in about 15 -30 min. Then in a room.

They actually did something I had never seen before. The nurse numbed the area before the IV went in. He said the doctor had to order that special. She said she didn't feel a thing.

I went to a friends business and ate a burger. I am all good. At least till 6pm!

The nurse that did a blood test here last week bruised her arm digging around. This guy was good though.

I on the other hand have no visible veins. They have to use my hand.

I am hoping for some vape mail coming my way today. Office is closed Friday (though of course I have to work) so no mail Friday. If I don't get what I am wanting I will have to check my tracking and go up to the post office Friday and Saturday. But it will be worth it to get some Reobuildable love!

Reo Hospital update. Sent my baby to the hospital on Monday for emergency button surgery and a few minutes ago, whilst ironing a shirt and jeans for the mega bash tonight my iPhone earbuds 'dinged', informing me that I had a new e-mail.

"Your package is on the way." What package, I haven't ordered anything. Yup, the message was from Reos Mods, my baby is already on its way back to me.

Even I have to admit that for a flatlander Rob ranks right up there with the best of 'em... dare I say he'd be head and shoulders above most 'high altitude' people.

This is pretty much the kind of service I grew up with lo those many decades ago.

As they say, "It don't get no better than this."

Thanks Rob, I greatly appreciate it.

(Now I'm just waiting for my five-million dollar invoice... plus shipping. Thank God for payment plans.)

Just spoke with Dr. She had some bad bone spurs inside her neck. They removed them and put in a titanium cage to realign the neck. She is in recovery now. She will be better than ever. DW 2.0!

That sounds great Dan! Hoping for her speedy recovery!
