Just an FYI for those who consider us TEXANS sissies. When I went out on deck to take pictures of REOs, blue sunny skies all day, the bird bath is still partially frozen. It's had 7 hours of direct sun but not frozen solid enough to warrant several trips out with boiling water. (Thank you Mother Nature for calming the winds so REOs wouldn't blow off of deck railing.:nun: Yes, it's happened more than I want to admit but that was before I discovered "tacky putty.")

Afternoon, fine REO Folk. DH, who has a routine colonoscopy early Wed. morning is starting fluids, jello, etc, only, tonight, about 12 hours early, so I'm on my own tonight for dinner. I'll look for something that doesn't smell up the house with "YUMMY." (He's starting early because he can't start the major clean out meds, at prescribed time, because he'll be working till evening tomorrow night.) For you younguns...... the clean out meds make everyone need adult diapers for the last 12 hours!!!!! (I started getting colonoscopies and needing canes, occasionally, in my late 20s, so I ain't got much "pride" left. And that's when I could still toss a bale of hay over the fence virtually one handed.)

Hugs, Feisty Alice

{edit} So we've gone from sweating our asses off to considering freezing pipes in a matter of a day.

Jack, my older sister lives not too awfully far from you. She posted a picture on Facebook of first real snow. She is extremely excited as the bears will be "put away" for a bit, now that winter has arrived (hope, hope, hope). She, of course, mentioned drought. A month or so ago she had an ongoing dilemma with a baby bear up in a tree, at the end of her drive down the hill; Momma nowhere in sight for days.

BTW... Past week or so Jen, Tripp, and Dan have been hogging all of our "wet falling from the sky." Bad Dawgs!!!!

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Hey, neato... that's my daughter's name. Translates to JOY in english, among other derivations. (See, I can do good things every once in a while. Okay, at least I did one good thing.)

Jack (Gioacchino... it kinda runs in the family.)

Hey Major Sweet Sonny. Have to go replenish bird feeders and clean up kitchen for DH. Also, the Sonic Breeze is "moaning" so need to put cleaned coils in. I know you are super appreciating your cable. So glad for you. For us "news hounds," who like to keep up with real news, it is so nice to have a selection. And a lot of the cable programs are wonderful!!!! When we watch some of the programming we get reminded of long buried memories and become smarter. New seasons happening and coming in January. History channel is a major favorite in our house. History 2 and Animal Channel are big here, too. I wore Moe Doodle out, today, playing Animal Channel all day, while I was doing other things. Advantage is that he will be tired out and claiming me most of night so I won't have so many "doggie snuggle" changes during the night. Moe is "Top Canine Dog" here so he gets his way , with the other dogs, when it "pleases him." (Imagine... though............ he is top pick for assistance dog, tolerating virtually all stimuli, and craving to help human, with a sprinkle of protection.) He's not greedy about near Momma time so we don't intervene much in the pack dynamics. That is unless it, in any way, goes against our rules. All the other are opportunistic and jump up to be beside me when another leaves. Well,............... Lily Heeler wants to be possessive but I strongly discourage that. In reality we strongly discourage any possessive behavior but a little slips by. The pack is the most balanced we've ever had. It makes things so much easier. Part is our being "alpha dog" constantly in their pack and part is just plain luck!!

Scritchies for Mr. O. Alice mom
