:D I did. I joined the Marines when I was barely 18. I ended up marrying a SF Bay Area while in the service. After we divorsed, it was important to me for our daughter to have a relationship with her dad so I stayed out here. Plus I was always considered the "black sheep" of the family and here felt more like home to me. My brother is in Moosup now.

Boot camp at Paris Island im assuming? Im a 67X Heavy lift helicopter mechanic. (Sikorski CH-54B Skycrane) from 1979-1987. Biggest mistake of my life so far was not taking the re-up pkg.

Yep Paris Island for bootcamp. Then Camp Lejeune / Cherry Point for schooling. When were you in? I was in mid-1969 to mid-1971.

I was in boot camp at Fort Jackson in 78, then training at Ft. Eustis, VA, Stationed in KS until skycranes were relegated to the ARNG and wound up at Bradley Airport, CT where 20 were sent. Convenient for me lol. Discharged in late 1987.

I am one of the lucky ones so far, my VVG original button is doing great. I think it makes it cool and rare..ish. I just wandered out into the rest of the ECF before I got here. I used to try to help new vapors out here, but they have become a little argumentative even towards each other. Sounds like someone made them vape in the first place.

Howdy Fine REO Folk. Well.............. my most used Silver VVG, with original button, is starting to act up. I have fondled Jack's................................................ updated button and contrary to what most think I do like the original better. But time to move on I guess. Both of the other VVGs, original button, are still working fine but they haven't seen nearly as much use time as Silver. He's going to Maine with an old Silver Mini that I pulled the fitting gasket out of (don't ask.... it's not easy to do!!!!) and re-homed, new to me, VVW, that has original button that was acting up prior to my getting it. (Some of them had issues.)

Find and give some happy.

Hugs and love, Feisty Alice

rofl...My daughter is older than her. Ra turned 40 last May. She does not like it when I tease her about that.

My DD turned 44 in Septemburger. We don't discuss the age thing. Her MinL suggested, once, and only once, that DD might consider "covering her grey." I will not make that mistake. (DD didn't unload on her MinL but I surely heard about DD's feelings about it.)

Hugs, Feisty Alice

I loved Seeker. I was angry when it was cancelled. Seems like most of my fave series were cancelled. Deadwood(#1), Jericho, Flash Forward, Lie to Me, etc. etc.

DEADWOOD!!! My all time favorite! I have the full set!As soon as i fugure out how to transpose them onto blank discs(?) I'll be glad to send them to you.

Good God Kay I would love that. They're quite pricey to buy the boxed set. I havent seen even one episode since they were cancelled. I'm watching Justified right now which has Timothy Olyphant in it. Who was your favorite character?

It's easy...guess!!

oh...and there's a catch!

If you give me instructions on how to copy them it won't take nearly so long,lol...like a year!

p.s. I had a major attitude when it was suddenly cancelled, wrote letters, called, just generally raised hell about it...then immediately bought all three boxed sets.

and that poopy HBO hasn't rerun them EVER!

Jericho and Lie to me were fantastic. Never saw Deadwood (though I heard it was excellent) and Flash Forward. All my favorites get cancelled too. Hey wait a sec...does that mean I have bad taste?

If it does, Lisa, then a kazillion of us have bad taste!

Actually, the only ones that have bad taste in this area are the producers

They prolly wear smelly socks, too.

I use Easy DVD Creator 2.5.8 but the instructions are specific to that app. So I cant tell you how to burn then darnit.
My fave characters were in order: Calamity Jane, Seth Bullock, Al Swearengen. I loved them all but thats my top 3.

Ya, I must admit. I often think poorly of the networks that cancel the good shows and yet put on stupid stuff like Mobbed and that dumber than ever show that you sing while addressing your fears. Just blows my mind. I even switched our entertainment company after they yanked my sci fi programming on the day of the finale of Battlestar Galactica. Even though they weren't interested in restoring my service without a package upgrade, I told them that our 8 year relationship was immediately terminated and to come get their gear at the earliest moment. I made them turn off our service before I would let them off the phone. Then before I hung up with them, I was ordering service from another company. No amount of free cable was going to satiate me. I cannot put words to how angry I was. Next day our new service was installed and I watched the re-run on Netflix a few months later. It was so worth it. I pitty the fool that messes with this geeky gal's sci fi channel. :glare:
