I'm so greedy that I am English and American. Result: all Arabs hate me twice as much!

We rented Aladdin for my little nephew on his recent visit here and noticed this lyric change. It HAD stood out when I first saw the movie as something I was surprised they got through:laugh:!

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where it's flat and immense
And the heat is intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home

Original first verse (1992-93):

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where they cut off your ear
If they don't like your face
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home

I got ya beat. My father was from England and my mother is from Argentina, so you can image how it was growing up around the house during world cup time! I was born in Spain but only by chance, I could have been born in scotland but I'll save that story for another time. For the record, incase anyone here works for INS, I became an american citizen around age 2, both parents came into this country the long hard way, the legal way. Infact the only member of my family I believe was born in usa was my lab/doberman mix ;)

Maybe not - my wife is Dutch and my parents are retired in Scotland! Try to send Christmas cards to Holland...so they have a Texas stamp etc.! "Look baby -you email it to me and i'll print it"!

I did it once - no more. The place names are, well Dutch! As for the World cup - lol England and USA have no chance and nor does Scotland. Holland do, but HRH hates soccer - Argentina maybe.

I spent a lot of money getting all my legal stuff sorted here and i now have the same nonsense and inaction from INS for HRH. That is why all talk of amnesties for people that didn't do it right get a "well - ok - whatever - just give me my money back then!" Becoming an American was a 'no-brainer' for me. I like where i am and i have never returned.

My Canadian friend has been going through the hoops for over 10 years to get US citizenship. She and lawyer even tried Political Asylum due to her being black balled from working the govt owned transit system after she whistle blew about corruption. If the ruling had been in her favor I think she would have been the first Canadian to attain Political Asylum in US. She actually had to move to Memphis as the judges are more "fair" there. Didn't work. She just learned about a "fast track" way that might work but will take 6-12 months. (Marriage is the easiest route but she refuses to do that.) She was seriously injured by a bus passenger, on job, and she fully cooperated with DA in getting the person convicted. It's all up to the Las Vegas DA now. BTW... her mother was a Dutch ex-nun and her father was French Canadian. We can certainly see the European influence in her life. One of the most interesting peeps we've ever had the pleasure to know. She's Asperger's, too, so that adds to her uniqueness. That's our Sissy Dog, btw.

Wow, thanks. I took antihistamine and local itch gel that is the best for almost everything that stings or itches (I have to carry extra bottles of it and keep extra here because everyone wants it once they try it) and passed out pretty fast, sleeping on sofa recliner with same clothes on. When I got up every time my arms brushed against the nettles still on my clothes I got some stings. I'm so super sensitive to so many things but the nettles were minor compared to some other things that don't even bother other people like dyes in foods that swell my lips up with hundreds of tiny blisters. Going to bookmark the page. Thanks again.

Mamaw cooked Spagetti and meatballs last night w/ Garlic Bread, so I had left-over spagetti tonight. But now she's baking something and sweet and fattening..... needless to say when I die I'll die full!

Sorry, i can't hang out here tonight as i have some important matters to attend to......namely, I wanna get my man-fix...

The Tigers, the Yankees and for the dessert......Deadliest Catch. I'll be so busy with both hands I won't have the agility or the necessary concentration to also type...

Switching back n forth with my Reos and changing channels with the remote and also trying to drink some ice water with whichever hand is free for a moment to cool off my rising temp. is very challenging...but i WILL perservere!:D
