Told Smurf to cook a bit more and i'll keep some in the car - Might have to hire a flatbed truck at this rate, but that would get about the same gas mileage as my car! Don't you hate when decisions you made come back to bite you in the ....?

"why a car so big and so thirsty? - you could have got a little one, not a damn V6" "cos it's comfy and i like it - and besides - i don't usually drive hundreds of miles.."

oh well!

AHHH! But he once in a lifetime experience will be so worth it!!!

I would love to be at that vape meet. What a hoot it would be.

And Becky, rotisserie is not difficult at all. I cant cook complex dishes. Just a meat and potatoes kinda guy. I'm sure you're a much better cook than I am.

Balderdash!! But thanks for the thought. I'll keep it in my pocket until I make it true. I DO make a real mean tuna casserole. Then I make it again, and again....:p.

As for the vape meet, you'll be in Vicariousville with me; but the pics will be a treat...sort of anemic treat compared, yes, but we'll buck up!

Geez, Ed...I went and wrote my lame little verse before I read you knock it out of the park...way to show a girl up:glare::p!
I'm still glad I celebrated my morning routine in rhyme, nevertheless, so there:laugh:! Now, wait, Dave, you were a pro chef/cook like Jen is now?! Val's slow-cooking triumphs, Kay's famous cookies, Alice's photogenic dinner marvels, Ed's drool-inducing rotisserie, FAMOUS fatherdano, and this is just off the top of my head:ohmy:?!? This honestly is starting to give me some sort of complex:facepalm:! Big-time culinary inferiority, and I've got to step it up. I'm USING grandma's cookbook tonight, instead of just bowing down to it and waxing nostalgic on this thread......

ETA: When I thought about my morning routine for the silly rhyme, I WAS wondering about Karen's ballpark. She's supposed to be home all day on Fridays.

I would never dare call myself a chef, that takes formal training, but I worked restaurants for a living through my teens and twenties, mostly cooking. I started doing corporate office work when I got married and had to support a family. I still miss cooking for a living, and idly dream of it when I'm not particularly happy with my job.

In my current line of work, there's no guarantee that something you start will ever get finished. It can be very frustrating, projects with long tails that sometimes never complete for reasons beyond your own control. That's one of the things I appreciated most about working the kitchens, every task is for a purpose, gets done quickly, and you can move on to something else.

If you watched Big Bang Theory this past week, Sheldon's obsessive need for closure hit uncomfortably too close to home for me.
