Dan:

I'm using 3mm, probably around 2- 2 1/2 inches with 32 wire. (Made a couple coils earlier with 36 at around 3.2 and one a little higher.) I moved the wick around on all three of them plus positioned the air hole at almost every degree of the compass. The vape is just fine with them but the draw is way too tight for my taste.

I like the way my Fatty can be adjusted with just a turn of the nut. I figured I'd try a pin file so I can open it a fraction at a time. I'd really have to go overboard for it to get too airy. Other than the draw I like it very much, easy to build. I did have to turn the post OUT on one of them a bit before it would fire on the Grand or VV Grand although it worked on my ProVari's.

I haven't set up the second one yet but the post is already out a bit farther.

RATS!!! Found out that starting at 5PM on Wednesday they are closing the major highway I use to get to the club for the presidential motorcade traveling to the debate. Now I'll have to head west and drive all the way around the world just to get there. Ya know what that's gonna cost in diesel!

Why can't he just take the bus, he'd be all alone... no one else rides 'em.

Jack

Pre presidential election stuff is a pain all the way around! :grr:

My fairly new Mini 2.0 is shooting off sparks between the battery top and the firing pin.

Help!

Hi Scott...I was posting while you were posting!

KAY thats not a problem, if the spring is not collapsed. when the firing pin touches the battery top you are completing an electric circuit.
as long as it is vaping and not actually shooting sparks a little is normal. [ although you normally need to be in a dark room to see it

sounds like you should contact Rob i dont know what to say or maybe lisa or Wayne can help you

I talked to him via phone earlier and desrcribed all the stuff, then i noticed that the firing pin looked broken. So I vaped on the other one, then realized i needed to put some Noalox back on the first one....and it started working!
But then the second one's spring collapsed!

kay do you have any extra springs ? they're easy to change on any aluminum reo except the VV
just a simple philips head screw

yes i do! I'll see if i have a small enough screww driver. I'm just going crazy trying to figure what I'm doing so wrong to make one Reo spark, and another Reo have the spring collapse, all in about a couple hours.

Oh, and I sent my new Vv and my wood to Rob just last Fri. cuz i collapsed the spring on the wood and I guess I messed up the gasket under the connector from tightening down the ERA that Pietro had me try when he was here.

So now I'm down to ONE Reo!!!!! Oh...woe is me:cry:
