Good morning, Sashwa :) Just want to say that your kids are lucky. We don't have that luxury here. It's a challenge when we need to get things done that conflict with school schedules and the like. We don't have our parents around to rely upon. My dad lives in AZ, my mom is in a "home", Wayne's dad is done with driving and his mom and her husband are heading back to AZ next week. We would love to have some back up!

I didn't have backup when I was raising their mother either. All my sick leave would get used up on her.

I don't think she realizes how lucky she is to have me, SIL's parents, and her 1st step-mom around to help them out when needed. I always get that they have it harder because they have 2 kids whereas I only had her. KIDS!!!!!!!

When my kids were little neither set of parents were around but his more than mine.

I did have sisters and brothers that helped a little and then I had one really great friend.
She had kids too and we'd trade babysitting duties.:)

All my family was back in CT but I elected to stay in the Bay Area when her dad and I divorsed so she could have a relationship with her dad which I thought was way more important than me being with family.

I had girlfriends that we use to switch off on babysitting but they worked just like me. But no one to watch her while I was working when she was sick. Her dad always had one excuse after another when I would ask him to take a turn when she was sick.

Ya...I'm glad we only have one child in house. It's tough, but in the end, we get it done one way or another. It's much easier now for us because Teagan is at an age where we can trust her to get in the house, be where she's supposed to be. Now if she would just do the dishes the right way and keep her room a few steps above chaos, we'd be golden!

My mom was either very sick or gone. My dad was an alcoholic.

His dad was an alcoholic and his mom, after the oldest turned three/four moved to Arizona.

My daughter lives in N. C. so I don't get to see much of my one granddaughter. In the first few years, I'd fly down there three or four times a year to help out. GD is now eight and daughter still plans things during our visits.

They also has the in the in-laws that help a lot.
She tells me right out that she doesn't know how we did it and we had two kids!!

If i posted the pics correctly, this is what the firing pins look like. They look broken to me... but what do i know! Any thoughts or input?

I already did the slight filing, and put on new Noalox, but it just doesn't seem right as far as vape and throat hit goes. I multimetered most of my batts and atties today and they're ok and I'm using the same juices. Oh, and i changed out the spring on one of them(!!!)

And I think i know why the firing pin is stuck in the open position...I was having trouble with the Delrin button spinning a lot and working itself down on the firing pin till it wouldn't fire, so a few times i took it off then put it back on and it's work good, but only for a while. So I finally just took it off cuz i realized i didn't need it for the minis anyway.
That's when i discovered that the firing pin wouldn't budge...glad it was stuck in the firing position, not the locked one!
My fingers are tired of typing , so I'm done for now...

Mornin REOville! I had a spring collapse on one of my REO 18490s and the screw that holds the spring in is really tight and I can't get it out. I am afraid I will strip the head. Is there anything I can get to loosen it up a bit?

Ummm...maybe spray a little W240? I had that same problem just a little while ago( dang, Rob is strong)but then it unscrewed easily.

ooops...meant WD-40

From what you are saying if you put a battery in it would fire without pushing the button? Can you push up on the pin and the bottom of the button and make it stay up? If it won't go up you might have broken that firing mechanism. It is usually cause by mashing the button way too hard. But it usually takes awhile for that to happen. The REO's are tough, but button mashers can mess them up.

Kay, do you have one REO that is working correctly? I recommend a trip to Rob if you can manage it. Us ladies need to be digging in the dirt this time of year, let the modmaster work his magic.

i knew I didn't explain it well, lol. Lemme try again... The firing pin isn't stuck in the open position, it's stuck in the firing position..it won't turn to the locked position. I really don't think that i'ma button masher..my fingers/hands aren't strong enough to do that, lol.

But i could be wrong...I have been wrong before about some things..lemme see... once in 1951 and again in 1972...oh, and maybe another time but I can't remember the circumstances...

3 REOs down!?! Wow...I'd blame Pietro's ERA too!
whip.gif

:evil::lol::lol:..."cept i didn't put the ERA on the Mini:facepalm:

They're both working right now...sorta... so I'll try to wait till I get the other two back and the new vvg, then i'll send Rob both of the Mini's for a Pet scan.

Actually from what I see in the pics it looks like you had a short from the atty at one point and the button is melted to the firing pin. I would definitely say that one needs a trip to the Mod Master for a tune up.

Thank you, Jamie. I don't know much, but the firing pin looks strange to me, almost like it split apart. I don't have another one right now to compare it to.And the other one ( the bottom pic) looks like it's burned and split.

It's strange cuz all the atties i was using at the time checked out ok on the multimeter.

Two more Reos to Robs! After i get my others back from the doctor!
