Any Android users out there? I'm wanting a new phone. I gave up my iphone a couple of years ago when I was out of contract because I hated how much it cost every month. Went to a cheapo phone and pay as you go. I hate texting on this phone. Doesn't have a qwerty keyboard and is a total pain. I still miss having a smartphone and I was kind of hankering for an iphone5, and almost pulled the trigger, but it's that dang monthly cost again. I find it exorbitant personally.
Anyways, I ran across a Galaxy Sll that I can purchase outright for $349 and run it with unlimited talk,text and data for $45 month.No contract. I almost ran out of the store with it, but then I realized I don't know squat about the android system. Although people that have them seem to love them. Anyone use them and love them? Use them and hate them? Is this going to be a bad move for me since I'm more accustomed to an iphone? Or will I end up wondering why I didn't jump ship earlier?

I've never used an iPhone, but I like my Android Epic Galaxy S well enough. It's not a perfect phone, but I've never been a smart phone guru/devotee.

i have an android. lg optimus, its a pretty basic android phone and i love it. i hated the vitual keyboard at 1st but now i'm used to it.

Been awhile again, I know, since I have been on here. Work til at least 6, dinner, bike rides from 7 to 8, showering then a movie leaves not much time for the PC before bed. Maybe once it starts getting darker earlier the boss will shut down the car lot earlier... Something closer to the 10-4 Hours on the window sounds nice.
Anyway, I just wanted to check-in here and see how everybody is doing. Heading out for our nightly ride late tonight (already 8), so will try to get back on after.

I'm so glad I'm not the only that gets into trouble because of skimming a message!
I have been an iPhone user for the past 3 years but when I heard they were cheaping out on the new larger screen with the iPhone 5, I decided to try the Samsung Galaxy SIII. I have had it since they were released and like it just fine. I still think Apple has better apps, they are written for only iphones and ipods so they are more refined whereas android apps need to work on dozens of different phones so are going to be a little more universal. I use email, texting, phone, camera and about a dozen different apps regularly and it does great for that. I would sum it up as saying the android does the same things the iphone does, it just does it differently. For me, the larger screen and layout was worth the tradeoff for losing the super slick ios interface. The s3 is very very good but it is a hair less refined than apple does it. It is also a lot more flexible if you are into total customization.
I am sorry I don't have any experience with the SII version. I am not sure what version of android it runs and that does make a difference. Hope this helps. I don't really think one is better than the other. they each have strengths and weaknesses, as i said they do the same basic things, they just do them differently and that gives them a different feel.
I like android, my phone and tablet are android and so is my nook color, the Galaxy Sll is probably running ice cream sandwich or upgradable to ICS

It's this one, but I *think* I read somewhere that it's running on Gingerbread. Is that a deal breaker or can I upgrade the software on the internet?
