Waldo Canyon Fire - Colorado Springs CO

Fire turned to the West @ about 4pm and produced 65 mph winds pushing the fire over 2 mountain ridges within minutes and into the NW part of the city. Acreage consumed estimated at over 15000.

Over 1000 firefighters on the ground battling in still an offensive mode.

Over 32000 folks evacuated. No injuries or fatalities reported.

5 AF Fire tankers and 6 Commercial helicopter tankers on scene and flying.

I live 5 miles from the current fire evc area and have smoke and ash. Still feel safe. Although I work 100ft east of the current evac line, and will go in shortly.

WX forecast is for thunderstorms this afternoon and that will cause winds to change rapidly and cuase fire lines to be breached. Many homes lost last night.

The 2 housing areas on the AF Academy have been evacuated. The 1800 cadets are still on base. They are holding the fire line and it has not breached the base.

Hi Jen & Dave:)
I've got to hit the road again today...and hopefully the sunny weather will hold out. It's been cold and soggy these last couple of days and I could use some sunshine. I love me some blue sky :)

Be careful Lisa! Stay safe and do the speed limit! LOL

Because I was camping and needed USB from my Solar charger, I bought the single bay USB based chargers- 2 of them...and still use them in the house (will do 18650 and all sizes lower) as well as the small dual 18350 usb charger and of course I have the xtar WP2-II..I like all the xtar charger and all batteries come off right between 4.18 and 4.21Volts!! I have not used the USB out on the WP2-II but I'm sure it will work as advertised. I didn't know there was an upgraded one- but mine looks exactly like the one that is sold on RTDV... Btw, one other thing I like about Xtar chargers is that you get a car charging cable with them and they work really well off of cigarette lighters in your car as well!!

BIG CORRECTION: I had said earlier that you need 2 spacers in the WP2-II to charge 14500 batteries- what was I thinking? No, you don't need any at all... So if anyone read my previous post, disregard it...I'll edit it too!!

I have those too but they, too, are still boxed. The updated one has "advance" circuitry and I think it is called the WP2-II instead of the WP-2. I need to get those dudes unboxed and into use don't I? I wanted the USB powered one for the very same reason, to hook up to 12v solar panel. I have some 15 watt panels just lying around the garage unused.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

I checked RTD so correction. The SP2 is the new, upgraded version of the WPII. It says on site, "SP2 is the follow-up product of the successful WP2II, and is no doubt one of the best 3.7V Li-ion charger in the market today."

Speed limit in Washington's like 120, right?

 In this particular spot the limit is 55....except for an 800 foot section where it drops down to 35. The officer clocked me going 55....which is I think a felony. He only wrote me up for going 10 over instead of 20 over. I always hit that spot going the correct speed, but I must have been distracted and totally spaced the speed zone. He even told me I could contest it...and I was like  nope...I totally deserve this.

I'm doing fine, George. More importantly - How are you doing?

I'm good. Eating better, exercising more. Doing what I can to avoid going through all that again. I sorely miss not caring about this kind of stuff, but now that I've had a glimpse of the alternative, I'm managing my way through it.
