I have moved so many times it is impossible to count. The funniest was in my teenage years when my roommate and I moved from one apartment complex to the one across the street. Neither of us had a car or truck or much money, so we trekked back and forth with laundry baskets and trash bags filled with stuff. When it was time to move the mattress, dresser, and big old fashioned tv , we put on our bikini's and half heartedly tried to drag the mattress. We had help before we got out of the parking lot.
Ohhh, to be young, skinny and cute again. Youth really is wasted on the young.

I counted once and I have moved 21 times. All places within 30 min of each other. That must be some kind of record.

I can remember 24. This is #25. Started in Ohio, to California, to Florida, to Ohio, to Las Vegas, to Ohio, to Indiana, and going back to Ohio! The last 10 moves I have done since being on my own. I do not like moving! This will not be my last move. I hope to have a home after this that will be my last.

Good morning, Terry :)

Wayne and I are planning on being moved by this time next year...and for the first time ever, I'm actually anxious over it. We have so much stuff to move. I have a truck and trailer that will help, but that's a lot of trips to make...so we'll end up renting a big truck to move the majority of our furniture. My worry is over our physical capacity to it. I know we're not nearly as energetic or strong as we were the last few times we've moved. We've been in this house for over 8 years...so it's been a very long time since we've done it.

But I look forward to it being done. Hopefully, if all works out well, it will be our last move. :) Congratulations on being done with it!

Your full of it Lisa. Your a youngin. still I know it's a lot. I'm already trying to high grade and get rid of crap I don't need. And I don't have a spot yet

Yes...but we both were really hard on ourselves in our younger years. Him especially. But see, it's not just furniture...most of it is relatively light, just bulky. But we also have shop equipment...and I'm not talking about a chop saw or small bench top drill press. We have free standing machining equipment and other floor model tools...and they are not only huge, but extremely heavy. It all just seems so daunting.

That sounds like a BIG move of shop related equipment. I only have moved once (not counting during my single days from furnished apts). It was from a 5 room home to my curent 6 room home and tho extremely costly we paid for a professional moving company to do everything from packing to moving and unpacking. It was hard on the wallet but it was nice to order the movers to put everything where we wanted and to clean up the mess.
