He might be a little slow on that with pain meds. But they will usually eat and drink just enough at least. Might be a little queasy with those meds. Eating will help, but he doesn't understand that.

Ya...baby steps for sure. he's so off....and he's not very fond of me right now. Hurts, but I totally get it. I'm just glad that he's resting. I think tomorrow I may bust out the barley bag and heat it up and set it on his back for a little warming therapy. His muscles are all taut and stressed. He's on tramadol right now...and we start the prednisone or whatever in the morning. Working on creative ways of getting him to eat it.

I use to give meds at a Vet hospital. Some you can fool. Others I just had to stick it in their mouth at the back of their throat! One huge Great Dane use to scare me every time I had to hold his mouth open and put my whole hand in there to get the pill down! I would put it in a little bit of wet food and that helped him swallow it down.
Oh good times Though I've never met a Dane I didn't like. Ya, Zoom's got the crazy eyes going right now, but I know he won't bite. He's been a real trooper. And it feels really good to know that he trusts us enough to know we're trying to help him. * just wish I could do more *
