I never realized that, jj. I always thought that medicare started when your SSI started. What do those on SSI do the first 2 years for their medical?

Is it like that in all states? I know that in some states, SSI people can received Food Stamps (SNAP) but not here in CA as part of their SSI check includes a food stipend from the state.

Kay!

O.K. I guess I should say Good Morning first. So, there, that is done!

Now I can say what I want after reading your post!

That is one heck of a way to treat a friend! She should be whipped with a wet noodle!

And her sorry husband for neglecting those precious kitties! He should be hung out to dry after getting a hosing with a firehose!

I am very sorry that you had to deal with such a disaster. I know you had your hopes high for a wonderful and memorable trip.

Now you are back safe and with your friends here.

Welcome home sweetie!

:lol::lol: They don't know how lucky they are that you weren't with me, girl!!!!But , you know, it WAS memorable...
driving clear across the country at my old age is something to brag about, lol. ( tho it whipped me bad!lol) and seeing
Deadwood in person was a treat...now i can't wait to watch the 3-box set of the series again!

And enjoy the peace and quiet of my little home...and sleep in my own bed....and on and on...lol

Oh thank goodness! Your Okay! I was really getting worried....I called your cell, but no answer and no voicemail. :( I posted on your facebook too hoping that someone would see it and let you know I was worried.

I would have come down to SeaTac and waited with ya....geez...I would have given ya a big hug. :( Ya, long trips can really bring out the ugliest in folks sometimes. But I'm glad to know you made it home safe and sound.

Aww! Lisa!!thank you! And for the great phone call today!

BTW...what is SeaTac?!! and a big hug at that point woulda made me bawl like a baby, lol ( but it sure woulda felt good!)

I'm SO glad to know that so many of you were thinking of me and caring!!!:wub:All's well that ends well!!!

Ohhhh Yuck, Jen!!! I know you said that your disability is too much for state medicare but wouldn't you just have a "share of cost" each month you would have to pay if you needed medical care or medicine? I know that is what they do here or at least they use to for those who's income is too high but meet the other MediCal requirements.

(((HUGS)))

Good morning everyone.

(((Hugs))) to Kay. I'm glad you are home but sorry your anticipated trip was a nightmare.

Karen, would you do my grocery shopping for me. :p

Jen, I have some 0mg juices that I would be happy to share with you. Send me your address and I will get them out to you.

Hi Sashi....thanks for the hugs!

I don't know, I just know we were lucky because a few years later, they changed things. We were also lucky in that he got back pay to when he filled.

True...but I'd be in a world of hurt right now if I didn't have enough extras.

Darlin Lisa...you just saved a lot of other folks from losing good batteries!

Not me, tho, I'm trying to stick with just 4 Reos and use all of them everyday!( I have 4 favorite juices to go in them)

Tho that mad modshucker keeps tempting me with his variety of mods, lol

Just thought i'd throw my two cents in...I went on SSI a bunch of years ago and i was put on medicare immediately, tho
I live in Mi. I have no idea if each state's regulations are the same, but it seems to me that since SS is a Fed. gov. thing, it should be!

I hope this gets resolved quickly for you,D!!

It should be and could be. All I know is what we were told and we were very grateful he was put on it immediately! :)

Nevermind the 0mg juice, Sashie.
I just found out that I will not be getting my surgery until after March, instead of this month.
Adding nic to my juice right now.
Then screaming.
Then going to the liquor store.
Then screaming some more.

I'm just picturing you screaming and blowing massive clouds of vapor and chug-a-lugging...go for it, girl, you deserve it!!

Might I also suggest a long, deep, soothing bubble bath after?
