I don't have any chicken soup for you Jack, but I have a big pot of home made chili that's been slow cooking for the last 4 hours I could share with you. Probably too hot for you though.

SEND IT OVER! It's not too hot and it'll give me a chance to give Dawg a taste of her own medicine. (It does have beans in it, doesn't it?)

/Texan snort of derision

Some fiery chili would do you good, Jack. Nothing blasts out the sinuses like a bowl of red.

Okay, the race is over and the Broncos are winning so it's time to post the magical solution to your failing eyesight, coil/wick wrapping woes.

I had thought about getting one of those 'third hand' gizmos to help in the winding process but found that simply screwing the rba base into an ohm meter works very well but didn't solve the problem of not being able to see what I was doing. I've been using a headband style magnifying glass that I've had for over 45 years for my gunsmithing work but the lenses are scratched, foggy and don't really magnify as much as I need. My search for a replacement led me to Amazon and that led me to an even better solution than I expected... and considerably cheaper than I expected. Here's the link;

Amazon.com: SE MH1047L Illuminated Multipower LED Binohead Magnifier: Home Improvement

I took some pictures with the camera phone since I'm too lazy to get out the real camera. They didn't come out real well but they'll give you an idea of how the new, updated headband works.

This an an overall view of the magnifying headband. It is totally adjustable for any size and is actually pretty comfortable.

The grey plastic area is an adjustable light that you can focus directly on the work area. It operates on 2 AAA batteries that ARE NOT included.

Yes, I know, this is a confusing photo but if you look closely you'll see a second lens that is folded up against the headband. If you need more magnification than the fixed lens provides simply flip this down and you'll be able to read the Declaration of Independence written on the head of a pin.

And for those who need mega, mega magnification simply flip down the jeweler's loupe and you'll be able to see the recently discovered God Particle.

This thing really works great for winding coil/wicks and for EIGHT BUCKS you can't beat it with a stick.

(Well, you could beat it with a stick but what would be the point.)

Now all those who say they can't see well enough to make their own coils have no excuse. Seems like the perfect accessory to Rob's new RBA... or any other RBA.

Oh, BTW, I'm still sick but I sacrificed my recuperation for the good of the Reo family. Sniffle, sniffle, sniffle.

Thanks for the tip on headgear there Jack. My eyes are good enough without the magnification..barely but the light would be great and the magnification couldn't hurt! Going to order one for my wife and another for myself.

Stuffed myself on chili. Ground beef, sausage, tomatoes, 4 kinds of beans, jalapenos, onions, chili powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

I have coined a new phrase for times like this. "Too full to vape!"

Guess what I just did, yup, watched Faith Hill on Sunday Night Football. Sigh... it just never gets old.

Oh, anyone have any idea who told the Steelers to show up in bumble bee costumes. Grown men just shouldn't do that, I don't care how much they're gettin' paid.

Jack

Okay, for all you folks that are winding, (or going to wind), your own coils/wicks but can't see the big 'E' on an eye chart I got some vape mail, (not really vape mail but that's what I got it for), that is working out much better than I expected and a whole hell of a lot cheaper than I would have imagined.

In TV land that's called the tease, (we'll be right back with that exciting story right after these boring commercials). As soon as I consume 55 gallons of coffee and a quart of DayQuill I'll explain what it is and post some bad pictures. I know this comes as a complete surprise to Pietro but my talents are limited and photography is not one of them. (Well... I do have some interesting home movies,)
Jack
