I'm with you, Lisa. Nothing at all wrong with small dogs. They perform their job just as well as the big dogs. Admittedly, they won't take a leg off a burglar when he comes in a window, but they won't take a leg off the UPS man at the door either. Like you, I love all dogs.
Mother used to have a ....zu they are abnoxious little buggers but good at letting the big dogs know there are unannounced coming. That's what they were bred for originally. But I just can't bring myself to own one

I'm rather fond of schnauzers too....but they're pretty loud too. We've had one across the street from us for the last 9 years...and that bugger is easily twice zoomie's size and yet he breaks sound barriers with his ungodly high pitched bark. You can hear him going off in his house all the way in our house with all the doors and windows closed in both houses. I'm not sure I could live with that.
I've had 4 Miniature Schnauzers. They had just as much love in them as any big dog I've ever owned. I'm sure you heard me grieve on the board when I put down my last one, Pete, a few months ago. The Schnauzers aren't yappy little dogs like some are. Like you, Darrel, I'm a big dog fancier, but a realy good small dog is nothing to scoff at IMO.

this 1 is pretty damn smart she's got about 20 toys and you can ask four 1 of them by name and she'll go get it

My last dog wasn't too sociable an animal but she always liked non yappy jack russels. I think because they were stubborn tough little buggers. Hard to find good ones that don't yap though

No worries, it was only the one schnauzer. My little chihuahua is one of the quietest I've ever seen. So I know they're each different.

Well if they're goin after rats it's all good. My last lab pit x was like that she'd dig till she got the critters. And well her holes were a lot bigger
