SIL knows someone who does it to make a little extra money and to keep himself busy so he gets a pretty good price for it.
I know we enjoy it when we are visiting.
Hey, DarrelDoing good thanks Jan. got a big load of firewood in some still in truck but it can wait till tomorrow now. Just good to get it here![]()
Hey, Darrel
Feels good to put up firewood in the fall, doesn't it?
Most of the year it feels like work, but in the fall.....I dunno--I think some kind of seasonal mental stimulus kicks in and, like with the squirrels cutting pine cones this time of year, I get an extra burst of energy and it just seems like the thing to do.

Hi Bush
Chores come with every season and the only one that I look forward to is opening the pool!
Darrel, you may find this interesting or a little bizarre but here goes.Hiya roger ya feels good plus lots of what I split today is ready to burn now so its even better to come in and light a good oneespecially after it was pissing while doing it

Darrel, you may find this interesting or a little bizarre but here goes.
I have long held the opinion that if I brought home from work a few chunks every day--I could get my wood and never really break a sweat doing it. Now I drive my Nissan Altima to Colville every day to meet the company crewbus, park at the Safeway lot and ride to work with the crew. All this year, I've had the processor operator cut me 20 or so chunks of firewood, I loaded them in the back of the crewbus and transferred them to my Altima at the parking lot. My theory has proven true. I now have next years firewood piled up outside my woodshed all hauled in the trunk of my Altima. Each trip is not enough wood to even affect the handling of my car but it slowly and surely has added up. Didn't even have to fire my Stihl up once.![]()
and like I said I get paid to do it Lisa, just in case you don't know, it's the season to be jolly and ALL the people are shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Except me.![]()

Hahaha...I know. I just forgot why we don't shop on the weekends. I don't do well in crowds...I'm overly sensitive to the moods around me. Just too much stimuli for me, I guess. Takes me back when Wayne and I had just met. I never went to the store until 10pm or so, just to avoid people. I've changed much over the years, but every now and then trips like the one we just took give me a good dose of remembering where I came from so long ago.

I see government work is very similar in Canada to here in the US. You get paid to cut firewood--then they sell it to you for next to nothing. Nicely done.Ah but i get paid to cut it all to length plus i cut to the length I want this wayand like I said I get paid to do it
but yes I know what you mean

As far as having an ok paying job and being able to go home and not sweat it it does me ok. Im liking the low stress I hate crowds but not as much as DH. I RARELY go shopping on weekends. Around here Mondays are the best but Fridays are to be avoided too.
The biggest irritation is people blocking isle when they know I'm wanting by!!![]()
The isles are one way...so I get agitated when folks drive the wrong way as the isles are not wide enough to support two way traffic.
In the store, I just feel a lot of pressure...but I have plenty of patience to compensate. Haha...I'm a reservoir of patience...except in the parking lot.The isles are one way...so I get agitated when folks drive the wrong way as the isles are not wide enough to support two way traffic.
