I just got some heartbreaking news. Our neighbor's Pit Mix, and Auntie Chaco to my Bubs, and our 0.5 dog to make up our pack of 5.5 because she's over here so much and claiming her spot on the sofa, was sent Over The Rainbow Bridge today. I'm so sorry I didn't see the Facebook message from her Mom in time as I would have liked to given her some support.

Bad news Chaco is not doing well she has a mass in her kidneys or spleen. She's gone through a round of antibiotics and pain killers for her big wound and what we hoped was a urinary tract infection...(she's ...... everywhere) and she seemed to be getting better (a lot of wishful optimism) but she's not. I've decide because of her age I would rather put her down peacefully without subjecting her to MRI's, X Ray's & surgery etc...
I wanted to let you know and also wanted to see if you were around tomorrow so she could see her "puppies" and tell you how much she loves you guys. Call me and let me know xxx-xxx-xxxx. I don't have a set time for tomorrow yet.

Lorie, I'm so sorry I'm just now reading this. Heart breaking news for sure. Bill and I were really worried for her and you all. She's the best dog this earth has ever seen. Just ask my Bubs. She will live on in our hearts. So sorry, so very sorry. I know this was a very hard decision but I agree that you are doing the humane thing for her. She will be sorely missed. She has been a part of our family, too. I am lighting a candle for you and beaming you lots of love and strength. Please make it okay. There is nothing to forgive either. You have done what is right. Someday we'll all meet over the Rainbow Bridge and romp and play just like we were all young and healthy. Thank you for thinking about us. Chaco was over for a visit earlier in the week. The last several times she came over the Bubs were subdued and very gentle with her as if they knew she wasn't well. Just the other night she and the Bubs were out having their fun barking. We will all miss her so very much. Love, Alice
Time to light another candle. When I let her out to go home Tuesday, rather than trot out the drive she paused a few steps out the door, looked over her shoulder and gave me what appeared to be a Thank You and then slowly trotted home. I had a sense that it might be the last time we had a visit. Last night she was at the fence, near my Bubs, barking at The Boogies as they do so many nights. I thought that maybe she was getting better. Too many tears today.

Moe Doodle is stationed about 10 ft from the doggie door waiting for Auntie Chaco to start barking. He just stuck his head out the doggie door turned around and slowly walked back into the living room and plopped with a big sigh. Something in their lives has changed. They are all a bit off tonight. They haven't rushed, en mass, out the doggie door once tonight. They will be looking for Auntie Chaco for many days and weeks to come. Time to get busy and start mending.

Claudia, is your spring compressed? I am a little confused about "I cleaned the short away, the button is shorter now.."
Please be safe and don't shorten the spring.
It shortened the spring too...
I "opened" the coils and had to clean away the melted plastic from the button and the firing pin.
Poor Grand!! Poor me now caring to lift up the button..
I need a new button and, if you warn so, a new spring!!!!!!

This has been the worst year ever starting with a tragedy on Jan 1, 2012
Capped off by sitting in a court room yesterday listening as my son got sentenced to 25 to life in prison.
And if that weren't bad enough I had to keep my wife from loosing it as the judge called our son evil and stated he would recommend to the parol board that he never be released ever !! He also said he was disappointed at the prosecutors decision to offer a deal that took the death penalty off the table.
What the hell went wrong ??? None of this should have ever happened ..... Then we get out and hear the other news off the day. This is crap .....

I drove my Mom to work this morning and came home to find the poodles decided it was Christmas. They tore their stocking up and ate about 6 lbs of treats and rawhides.
