The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
i know apple has a CULT following. i have never drank that koolaid. i just cant see paying 2 to 3 times the price for a computer thats the same hardware and software as a PC. i have never had a problem with a PC that a windows for dummies book would not fix

My problem is the windows for dummies book is too confusing. As far as comps are concerned I'm a real dummy  I find the apple stuff fits with the way my head works the best.

good morning everyone....hope everyone got what they wanted for xmas....it is raining AGAIN!....i am jealous of who ever got a white xmas..

Good Morning Ray! We have about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Under that is some icy stuff from last night. Snow is still coming down and adding up quickly. So far we have not had that high wind.

I think you may be in line for snow later right?

the problem most have with the windows for dummies book is they are not intended to be read as a book.
you just look up your problem in the glossary and follow the steps to fix the problem. if you try to read the whole book you will get lost.
most problems windows will open a problem solving window and walk you thru the steps

With my PC at home and my laptop at work I just don't think I would need a tablet. I did look at them as a replacement for my laptop for work. They are all too confusing for me. And the prices are way too high for what I would spend. I figure if I replaced my laptop with another laptop then I would at least have it to use at home if my PC died. Got to watch my money and try to make the best decision when a replacement is needed.

i completely agree karen, a tablet wont replace a computer for me either. the tablet is handy if your;re already gonna buy a reader cause you get the extra functions ALONG with the reader to take with you like to a Dr appt etc

Im not into tablets either tho I did buy my wife a Ipad so she would not use my PC. :) If I were to buy one for myself (don't see that happening) the best bang for the buck is the Google Samsung Nexus 10. Bigger screen faster and voice typing & search with a 5meg pixel cam at about half the price of the Apple. ;)

I don't think any tablet would ever replace a laptop for me, I got the Kindle Fire because I thought it would be great for entertainment at a good price. Lots of games I enjoy, and since I am a prime member, lots of free movies and TV available. I have an Ipod Touch with all my music and a Bose Soundock I use it on every day, but for me, the Ipad is just too expensive for the limited way I would use it. I don't even read on my Kindle Fire, I prefer the regular Kindle for reading, much easier on my eyes.

Do you know about this site? Free Books for Your Kindle | eReaderIQ.com Tons of free books and the listings change daily. Not NYT best sellers, but you can find an amazing variety in there and some of them are quite good. :)
