I've used some nasal spray but this infection is spreading to my ears and sapping all of my energy. I'm also having some joint pain I normally don't have. I saw my doctor two weeks ago and she gave me 10 days worth of amoxicillin and it seemed to work, but a couple of days after the antibiotics were used up, I seemed to have relapsed. Seeing another doctor tomorrow morning since mine is off work this week. I'll plead for the good stuff, whatever it may be.

You need some broad spectrum antibiotics and it may take more than one course. Once you get started on something that hit it you could feel better in a couple days. But, again, pay close attention as first may not totally take care of all.

Sorry you are feeling crudy. Glad you are seeking solution.

Love, Big sis

It's ok drivin on ice Alice. Just need Studs or good winter tires. The ones with a snowflake inside a mountain picture. But I guess there's no such thing in your neck of the woods eh ?

Yeah, I'm familiar with studs and snow chains growing up in nothern Kentucky and father was a rural mail carrier so he had to use chains several times every winter. Problem down here is the ice most usually thaws during day then refreezes at night most cold spells. Studs are murder on non-iced roads. I think I remember that non iced roads are "murder" on studs, too. It was icy this morning for rush hour but melted by mid day for a few hours. That's the most typical. Ocassionally they have to ice more than bridges/over passes but not often. I don't think any municipalaties have snow plows as it's very rare to need them; maybe once or twice a decade. We used to get more snow and many more severe ice storms but even then they started melting in a day or two most usually.

It can get plenty cold here especially wit wind chill but rarely last even a week before it warms up some. Next week most days shoul approach 50 and no hard freezes. It's 27F now getting down to 20 but normal wind. Roads will be pretty treacherous at 0600 from frozen thawout but in a few hours traffic on main roads will be better from ice wearing down. Then mid day it will thaw.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Good evening Alice! How was your Christmas?

Good and quiet. I see yours was good. Worked till 0700 Christmas morn then slept till noon. Lazed around and started goose and fix'ns around 1600. We chowed down at 2200. Goose cooked properly but big hit was goose gravy, wonderful spreadble fat, and best dressing we've ever had. Going to do goose stew with left over. Stewing carcass now keeping house smelling yummy. Bubs extra snuggly. Loving that.

Love, Big sis

Christmas.jpgThis is what it looked like at my folks this morning. Had a great time, but am happily snuggled up at home with my Bubs now. My Mom got a new sectional sofa for Christmas, and I got her old living room suite. Each poodle is on their own piece of furniture. (yes, I made out like a bandit this year!)

I haven't had goose since I lived in Killeen 7 years ago. Used to get it at a little Thai place. Yum!
Happy to hear you enjoyed your holiday!

hiya Alice mom you get my pm ?

It's all dark meat. You have to cook them differently from chickens and turkeys. Special attention to not over cooking breast that should be served medium rare or it gets dry and tough. They cook faster, too and cooked at lower temp. Next time I'm going to remove breast and legs/thighs and cook off bird.

I had forgotten how wonderful goose fat is for spreading on breads and cooking. It puts the best butter to shame and is a much healthier fat.
