Hi Lisa!:)
It's not Friday but Saturday is pretty darned nice too.
How are you doing today.?:)

I am well...well rested, relaxed...and doing chores. I hate chores, but it's raining outside and it just feels right. I was afraid I was going to have to head over to my FIL's place to hook up a new tv, but it appears they got it done, so I get to stay in my jammies. How are you, my friend? :)

I'm doing well, Lisa.
Just had a few brews at my favorite local brewpub--no, not the quality of Boundary Bay but pretty good for Kettle Falls, WA.
Home now to take the ashes out of my woodstove and get ready for the cold weather the forecasters say is coming. If they are correct, it'll be down near 0 degrees here in the high country. Not nasty cold but cold enough to get your attention.
Glad to hear you got to stay in your jammies.:)

Lisa, are you 100% weaned off of relying on graphic artists now?

Have any of them come sniffing around for work?

Hi Tripp  I hope you're feeling better.

No, not yet. I still have much to learn and don't plan on giving this guy the boot. He's good at what he does, and if the RE market is going to continue to grow, then I will need him. A 24 page book was a breeze....a 48 page is probably a challenge but both at the same time, I'm just not ready for. Besides...if we were to grow...say double the size of both books, I'm not sure I could do it all myself. I would probably need the help anyways. The last gal (you know, the one I was so ...... at) wouldn't give us the time of day at this point. She was pretty mad when we let her go. And the guy before her...well, he wasn't very happy either. He was charging more than double what our current designer charges. So when we let him go, that was a big chunk of his income. Folks tend to take that sort of thing personally, even though it's just business and we have to do what we have to do to stay afloat. My current designer understands our predicament....and prefers to keep an income coming in. So he's working with us on this, knowing that we're not trying to screw him...we're playing that juggling act with money like everyone else is.

That sounds nice. There's a few pubs I miss from Eastern WA that would be great to visit on a cold afternoon like this. Looks like that cold is going to bounce right on past us...so no super cold weather coming here. Stay warm, my friend. :)

Glad to know you found someone reasonable and reliable. :)

Ya...I was totally stoked when we found him. Especially because he's from WA and knows the area well....but the irony is that he moved to TX right before he started with us. He makes our lives a lot less stressful....and there isn't enough money in the world to pay what that is worth to me.

Sounds like it took three (?) tries before you found the perfect match!

canoeist here i sent it to said the envelope showed up empty and the corner ripped open

This crap seems to be growing more and more out of control..... It seems we will now have to insure even small ticket items.
They'll still get stolen, but at least we'll be reimbursed

And to think that the employees that we should be able to trust to deliver our mail are such shabby thieves....

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Oh Justice yum turkey...............even if I just had it, it sounds good!!
It's good to know someone thinks so. I've already had it once this season and that's more than enuf.
Gonna make a huge pot of gravy so I can get the turkey down. Hopefully there's lots of brown meat.

The first guy is the same guy who had been doing this for my in laws for years before we came on board. We worked with him for a couple years until the market crashed. He wasn't willing to budge on the price and we found many others who were willing to do this work for half the price. We chose one who was recommended by another person we trust in the business. She worked out for a while, but got lazy and stopped communicating well. I won't go into details but the last straw was her bailing on us during a print deadline for a wedding and her son's birthday...that she knew about for months in advance, but failed to tell us until the morning of....that she was going to be unavailable for a couple days....time we did not have after her being unavailabe for the week before for no reason other than preparations for the festivities.

Well that would have ticked me off royally too. If she'd been in the business for a while then she knew that she was bailing at the worst of times!!!!!!! :grr:

That's actually our favorite way to do turkey. After it's roasted...take a big pot of gravy and cook it up with a bunch of cut up turkey. Make up some potatoes and pour the turkey + gravy right over top of it. Num!
