 NKOTB....so very long ago.

Cool story bro, time:

Back when I was either a sophmore or junior in college, I started dating this freshman chick. We hadn't been seeing each other for very long when I first visited her in her dorm room. When she let me in, I was highly surprised to find NKOTB posters all over her side of the room. I was instantly repulsed and considering whether or not to go ahead and write her off as batshiat crazy and move on to the next cute, yet potentially crazy chick. I asked her what was up with the posters and she launched into a sermon praising the musical stylings of the NKOTB. She even had the audacity to inform me that I had the same birth date as Donnie Whalberg. That's when I made up my mind and told her to have a nice life. I never went inside that dorm hall again.

Side note: Donnie Whalberg redeemed himself in my eyes by returning a masterful performance as Carwood Lipton in the Band of Brothers TV miniseries. His younger brother, Marky Mark, is still a much less talented hack, in my eyes. Donnie has my blessing to celebrate his birthday on my birthday so long as Marky Mark isn't invited to the party.

 Hi Tripp  Happy New Year

We've got fireworks here! Sounds like a war zone.

Dang... our new neighbors who moved in behind us are trying to compete with the space needle....I wish they had warned us. Jasmine is spazzing and we've got high grade mortars exploding right over top of our house. :grr: Seriously....I'm not comfortable with mortars going off that close to my windows and my rigs.

Is that even legal?!

No, not really...but it is tolerated until someone gets hurt I guess. We live in the land of mortars....off season, expensive fireworks are cheap on the reservations. Don't get me wrong...I love the big fireworks...just not next to my house.

Yes, I am still watching the Walking Dead  Just finished the scene at the well. Gotta love T-dog "good thing we didn't just shoot it".

If you want, Val would be fine since it types quicker and you have a Valerie :)

The fireworks just settled down, and our oldest didn't hear anything. Ms. Hannah was sleeping with walking dead in the background and didn't even flinch! I guess my choice of programming was full of strange sounds so the explosions weren't so bad, she probably just thought it was more gunfire

Just walked the perimeter of the house....twice. Something is on fire nearby but we can't see it. I'm guessing whatever it was has gone out or is under control now. The fireworks are down to a dull roar now.

Maybe a polite conversation with the new neighbors is in order? Just be nice, thank them for the wonderful fireworks and ask that next time they warn you so you can sedate the dog, and could they point them away from your house

I loved Washington, I was in Yakima for a year a long, long time ago.

Ya...if we're going to be here for the 4th, I'll be sure to ask them about a month in advance. Poor thing is beside herself. We've been making progress with the fireworks over the last year with her. But this was just seriously right over the top of our house. She's holed up in her kennel..and not keen on coming out. I'm glad I keep that thing open for her to use whenever she wants to.

I lived in Ellensburg and Walla Walla a very long time ago. Now I'm in the opposite corner of the state.
