The REO Lounge - Part II

Two summers ago we were in the middle of a horrible drought and fires were popping up everywhere. We had to evacuate from here because of the smoke. 2 hours away (at my folks house) a huge fire got acres away from my parents house and destroyed several homes of childhood friends. Come to find out arsonists were setting a lot of the fires. It still pisses me off to think about.

...sorry for the rant, what I really wanted to say is stay safe Alisanne, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Thanks Jen One of the firies was on tv last night saying they are investigating as some of the fires may have been deliberately lit. If they're caught I think they'll get lynched.

I love your home and your voice and accent. I want to have a coffee in your breakfast nook with you lol

Thanks Lisa, it's a hard time for so many people but the Tasmanians have been wonderful at helping out and other states and New Zealand are sending Firies in to give our poor overworked guys a break. There's been a couple of cases of looting (there are always some rotten people no matter where you live) one got caught and the locals tied him to a fence till the cops got there. I think they showed great restraint!

I live on top of a hill and about 20k from the nearest fires but I'm keeping a close eye on the hill opposite where my son lives as he is surrounded by bush and it's tinder dry. The planes carrying water to dump are overhead all the time. We really need a good downpour of rain Jan, fingers crossed we get some soon.

Can I add a prayer to the fingers crossed...I hope it rains for you soon!
