Hello Reonuts. Just wanted to drop in to thank everyone for the very kind PM's and VM's. I apologize for not responding but right now I just don't have the energy, or concentration.
Missed dancing last night, looks like I'll miss it again tomorrow and Saturday, doing what I can to stay out of the hospital, although not being able to breath or taste anything I'm not sure not being able to vape would bother me all that much.
I lurk a little during the day when I'm awake so everyone behave themselves, I'll be watching.

do i need to wrap silica around the SS mesh or do i just wrap the wire directly on to the SS mesh

You cut a square or a rectangle, oxidize it with the flame from a butane torch, roll it up tightly so it's about the diameter of a 2mm or 3mm wick, snip it to the length you want, then wrap your coils around it. Dry fire it at low voltage to identify hot spots. Gently nudge the offending coil with a paperclip or precision screwdriver or whatever until there are no hotspots. Then juice it and vape. SS mesh wicks take a while to break in, but once they do, they're pretty great.

I have been without my REOs since 12th november - they went to a make over in Maine and got lost in the German customs and DHL on their way back: You can follow the drama here: DHL Track and Trace
After weeks of yelling at and pleading with people I was told the parcel was "lost", then "destroyed", then "partly destroyed and we'll send you what's left of it".
Now the tracking shows movement and I think I might get it tomorrow. I fear that it will be in bad shape, but I hope at least some mods are still there.
In the parcel is a Wood 18490, a VVW, a mini 14500, a VVG and two REOmizers.
Wish me luck.
